maybe a suggestion for future enhancements but there have been some times that I find a video on YT etc so i know the vid url is out there, but lsi search doesn't find the url. I've tried just pasting the link directly to the url form field, but it wont allow save and wont search the http to find the link in results.

i assume this is partly a security issue (ala sql injection) and part quality control... or is it the datapool of where videos are searched from?

can we get a fix for this?

The LSI search checks extra fields. One important field is if a video can be embedded on others sites. If this is disabled, the video will not appear in the search results. As always, there is the possibility things do not work as they should Do you have an example for me, then I can see what is going on. Thanks

ok.. what about a direct YouTube link like below, should lsi search pick it up in results? or would it accept the url as below in a direct save? (i pulled this link from the share/copy link buttons on YT). if not, is there a different way to copy a link from an external source to paste into the search form?

Not so fast, we're doing too many steps at once.

The problem was that some videos do not appear in the LSI search results. I would like to check that. Can you please provide me a url of a song on LSI and the url of a YouTube video that does not appear in the search results? Tnx

You know that you can search on video id right? In you example, search on "gFEJ6FeH9zc" and this video will popup.

to search are you saying there's no need to add the entire url path - omit http yadda yadda - just use the file (id) name?

correct, the video ID is also a valid search term

ok not sure if i tried this way before (prob not} will do in the future..

but just to clarify, is using the full http url path incorrect altogether, or should it still be able to find the video?

There are some, Ray. I never saved the information. I'll have to see if I can find some examples.

Are there still unanswered questions? Everything clear?

I found one. Gregg Alexander - Come Be My Baby, the singer-songwriter who wrote it for Ronan Keating - Come Be My Baby. The demo is clearly on YouTube, see . I tried to search with the direct tag and the song title but LSI doesn't pull it up.

The reason it does not popup in the LSI search is because that video can't be shared on other websites. Simply click on the video in your post to play to see what happens.

Here is one - I shared the URL on twitter and it played as it should, The LSI search cannot even find it for me no matter what the method. There may be more to this.

Bea Miller - Young Blood [Kue's Sunset Remix]

The video of Bea Miller is filtered out of the results because of restricted countries: "The uploader has not made this video available in your country.".

ray, do you think you can show the user the reason a particular url is denied if we paste the url to search?.. or is this too difficult since its a filter thing?

Sorry it took a while to reply. A-ha! So it's restrictions on the video, shucks! Is it okay to copy and paste the link in the "about info" on the song?

Good idea about showing the denied-reason. But as you alrady mentioned, it's not that easy. I'll check out the options.

The "about info" is only for news-article texts. Facts or links do not belong in there. Nice thinking though
