Because otherwise I'll talk about it in Randomness and people will get upset...

That's a deep and probably correct read.

Martin just needs to get the next 2 books out dammit.

I feel a lot of the issues they seem to be having both this season and last (and if we're being honest parts of season 5) have been because they don't have Martin's writing to guide them. They know where they want to land it just seems like they're spinning to get there.

Like we can all agree that go north to catch a wight to convince cersei the real danger is beyond the wall is the dumbest plan in the shows history, right? Like it ignores so much of the story told this season and hinges on cersei not being cersei at all to work.

The visuals were cool, it's the story that's suffering under the weight of the end

Agreed on the books, he needs to get those out soon.

Jon going beyond the wall, as far as he went, knowing what was out there was a majorly stupid move. I could understand if they reconned a mile or less North of the Wall, but they went far North. Huge risk for a very small potential payoff.

And that's just it. Like it's a dumb plot point. Like did he forget they named him king in the north. Dude has been gone a long time

And how many near deaths does this guy need to have?

It's frustrating. The writing was so on point for the better part of 6 years to watch it flail at the end is disappointing. I still love this show, but it's like the Simpson's. When you've loved something at it's peak, it's frustrating to watch it decline

I like your faith, Joe, but it will feel like a big jump (to me) to get Sansa from where she seems to be now to the point of killing Littlefinger. Has she killed anyone at all yet?

Yeah, the "catch a wight for Cersei" plan was crazy stupid. Did they think they were going to happen across just one? And like Ant said, it relies on Cersei not being Cersei.

I never thought she'd be the one to kill him. It'd be Arya if anybody.

If Cersei is one thing, it's that she knows how to win. She has no chance against Dany and she openly admitted it. The only play for her is to ally with Dany against the wights. Once the threat from the north is gone, then it's a different ball game. We're probably going to lose at least another dragon before this is all done so the advantage Dany has will weaken.
Capturing the Wight wasn't just for Cersei though, it was for Dany and any of those in the south who doubted the threat. Still a stupid way to prove the point but it was the only way to get Cersei to believe in the threat.

I still think the show is at it's peak. These conversations are had every season and every season ends on such a high note that we love it anyway.

If we're being technical, Sansa is the one who left Ramsey with his dogs. She's got it in her, but she's more likely to do it in an indirect way. Which in Littlefinger's case would be leaving it to Arya.

And I agree about the going beyond the wall thing mostly... dumb, dangerous plan. A wight is not going to convince Cersei, but it might convince Jamie and their army and I think they'd be more apt to follow Jamie than her. It really could spell out the beginning of her end, if he and her troops defied her. She'd go nuts.

We cannot lose another dragon. Dany and Jon need to ride those dragons off into the sunset together!

Yeah I'm surprised Davos or tyrion didn't just suggest a marriage rather than Jon bend the knee.

They don't know about the possible being related thing. A marriage would solidify both of them in terms of standing against the lannisters

I'm surprised they haven't already, but it'll happen.

I don't think it was proposed because Tyrion and Davos didn't think they would accept. It would have been the smart move though.

It was definitely hinted that the subject will come up though. All the talk of Dany having an heir and whatnot.. someone's going to make the suggestion.

Is she able to have more dragon babies?

I don't think there are any more eggs. They pointed out a few times that she apparently can't have children either... but honestly 8 episodes is not long enough to get her from single to with someone to having babies anyway.. so even if she could, I don't think they have enough time to fit it in.

Ohh, right, the eggs. I forgot that was how it happened. It got warped into something weird in my mind. :/

Not that weird Joey. We had someone fire out a demon smoke baby. Dany pushing out 3 dragons is par for the course.

There are rumors in the books and history that there are dragon eggs in the dragon pit, which is conveniently the location of next episode.

She's just gonna have to set Cersei on fire then, so she can hatch them.

Though the witch woman that delivered Dany's stillborn baby said it was monstrous and scaly but she could have just been saying that to be an asshole

I get that Jason momoa might have scales as Aquaman but the dothraki weren't really scale people.

Maybe not scales, but he is a big dude. Could explain at least half of the "monstrous and scaly" bit.
