I wondered if anyone else has noticed the change in Font style (thickness, use of shadow, etc) for all the Titles of Threads (and who knows where else) across LSI Site recently? (If you're wondering what is a "Title" the words of this poll "Do you prefer the old or new Title Fonts on LSI?" are written in the new Title Font above here).

Do you like it? Is my question for this poll.

My comments (after you vote here----too many possible answers to make it a poll) appear below so spoiler alert....stop reading at the line and answer first if you would like to write something first before my opinion influences you.

And my opinions on this are:

The new font is here 11-25-16 photo

Compare to the old font style here 9-16-16 photo

If the newer one is harder to read..... has greyish pieces floating within the letters...don't blame Ray---this is a common optical illusion as described in this Wikipedia article. (The Hermann grid illusion).

Some Fonts are easier to read than others---when adding shadows, it usually makes the fonts clearer---but have to be careful as some combinations of black and grey shadows have the unintended effect of making type faces more (not less) difficult to read quickly on a screen that is brightly back-lit (as computers/mobile devices are).

As for suggestions to fix it, I'll leave it up to Ray as he definitely wanted to make a thinner typeface to clear up the page--- but as to the amount of shadow and its direction, or if a darker type without shadow might be clean, yet not have the problems of grey illusions making it more difficult to read---are all factors to be considered.

I prefer the new one because it's easier on my eyes.

If he hadn't said anything about it, I wouldn't have noticed.
