Thank you Joe for introducing me to the Audio Troubleshooter (had no idea there was one!)

I had several speakers HP Realtech etc listed on the screen
Choosing Speakers WsAudio_Device
the Troubleshooter then informed me that the selcted device is not the default audio device.
So Apply this fix.. and the Sounds are back!!!

But then I lost them trying to type this up for everyone to let know which steps worked for me...
So I went back to the Audio troubleshooter and this time I switched the default onto the HP Realtech device.
Now the sounds are back!!! (taking my fingers off the keyboard before I lose sounds again!)

Thanks Joe!!

Monday morning, Practice.

Celine is reporting such issues too..
Practice, I didn't say that exactly. Your case is completely different from mine. Actually, I had plugged my earphones in but the sound kept coming in speakers only, at a low volume. May have broken something inside, while plugging my earphones in.

Any idea?

A computer-like question, I noticed the time for LSI at the top of the web page, is set (at this moment) at 22:15 pm Saturday August 16, 2014... the only city/ zone I can find that on a time zone map is AZOST Azores Summer Time... is LSI based on an internet hosting site in the Azores? If not, why does the time show its there now? Just a computer-like question I thought you might know answer to! Thanks again Joe!

Thanks Ray! (I think) I clicked on it and got a new tab.... just shows the Ask Joe Page with the LSI clock at the top.. now it says...22:46 (for those in 12 hr formats its 10:48 pm) should I have seen something else? Was asking for location of time zone the clock is working under and I found it as the AZOST Azores Summer time... just wondered about the hosting location as usually sites use the time zone of the hosting nation.....

Did you right click and click open in new tab? If so, it doesnt work that way. You need to left click.

It uses GMT as in the UK, although it's currently one hour behind us.

Aha Joey! Welcome to the LSI time mystery! If it is GMT, why is it now showing one hour slow? I suspected it would be GMT but I don't have screen shots of LSI to compare with times from earlier visits to site, so I was unable to see if when I first came here to visit if the time was set differently and showed true GMT time... (or am I just witnessing an "artifact"? Something like the difference between true North and magnetic North... something we can't fix......

Always interested in time so some day I'd like to visit the Royal Observatory in Greenwich to see where the world sets its time from (or used to in the case of atomic clocks everywhere now)

I had let my computer on this site and when I came back 5 minutes later, 2 tabs had opened automatically, each one with some sites that could prevent my computer from slowing down. So I downloaded Drivers Manager and Tuneup Pro and I wonder if that helps... I'm sure I have removed LSI from the "pop-up" section of my browser recently.

I would run malwarebytes and make sure your antivirus is updated.

It can't download malwarebytes, Joe. It has been indicated me by Norton as a phishing site!

Well Norton is wrong, you can override Norton.

But do you know if Drivers Manager and Tuneup Pro help?

OK, ready to download malwarebytes, it hasn't been indicated as phishing because I used another site.

OK, I've run a scan, so what should I do now? Use Norton again and check the full system?

The malwarebytes scan lasted 30 minutes.

Sure. The additional tabs may have just been a result of one of the sites you visit.
