So most of you probably haven't noticed yet, but the Htd1 account is gone from LSI. If you're wondering why, you'll find a clear explanation here.

If you don't wanna bother reading it all, here's the short version of the story:

Gabriel is not who he says he is. For the past years, he's been using Michael C's pictures. He's also made up a girl called Brianna Casella – who, in real life, is Mallory D Mike's girlfriend for the past two years as she said herself. Second part of the message

Mike and Mallory's photos have been uploaded by multiple people (their friends) in multiple albums under these names. All their friends in the photos are tagged. Notice that this is not like Gabe's, where only him and Brianna are usually tagged, and only they comment. There is also a video of Michael and Mallory together where you can hear the woman (supposedly Brianna) being called Mallory ("Mal").

So yes. Gabriel lied to us all for the past 8 years. Full explanation below.

Gabriel always claimed to be British, born in Manchester. And yet, you will find no record of his birth on findmypast.co.uk, while other british LSIers can easily be found. Not under his middle name, not under a different city, nothing.

Gabe is the only one who ever comments on Brianna's photos (bearing in mind that 'Brianna' appears to be a very outgoing woman); Gabe is the only one to be tagged in most of Brianna's photos; Brianna often seems to respond very quickly to things Gabe has said; and most of Brianna's profile is on private (despite the fact that she has no problem openly embarrassing herself on Gabe's profile). Surely no woman would degrade and humiliate herself the way Brianna does.

More recently, he would not meet Kara, although he loved her and was feeling suicidal because of her. They were only 2 hours away, why wouldn't they meet? Or speak on the phone? Gabriel would only leave her voicemails with a funny british accent. Also, he wouldn't give her his address, nor allow her to drive to his city.

And, oddly enough, health issues would always get in the way of them meeting. Although Kara called the hospitals, and no Gabriel Matthews was ever checked in. Even though he said he was.

If you looked at his friends lists on Facebook (it has since been deleted) you may have noticed that they are mostly members from LSI. Out of 84 friends, 70 something are LSI members.

Like 'Brianna', Gabe appears from his photos to be an outgoing person, right? His hockey; his partying (mostly in the past due to his apparent sickness, but he did mention going out recently); his friends from the photographs he has. Why aren't these people on his Facebook? It's curious that he had supposedly lived in Manchester (or even the UK) for years, but had no one on his Facebook who he went to school with here or hung out with here (the only British people there are ones from LSI). Gabe calls Brianna "just an old fuck buddy", but his pictures imply otherwise. Not only do they show the two at parties together, but they show them at what looks like either holidays or family gatherings; at events such as the sorority ones... and Gabe had said he had spent a Christmas with Brianna. Still, we thought maybe they were simply closer friends than he has tried to imply.

In one of those Brianna pictures, she was wearing a sorority t-shirt. Chi Omega to be more precise. Using different Penn State and sorority websites, no record can be found of a Brianna Casella at a Penn State sorority. Also no available records for inline hockey online, other than statistics and main players (no Gabriel Matthews there). Nor a roster of both the US team and the British team, as Gabe has apparently claimed to play for both.

Eventually, through the PSU sorority websites, Mike and Mallory were found.

I don't really think he'll come back. LSI isn't what it used to be, connections are much harder to build than in the earlier days. And to rebuild a whole new identity would take way too much effort.

I'm like Tabitha, I tend to take things at face value, it's a lot easier. Even though I had a lot of doubts about Gabe I mostly took him at face value and just scratched by head about it a lot. The reason that I got involved with all of this is because one person had picked up on a clue in one of the pictures (the Chi Omega symbol). And I thought to myself, well, why not check up on this.

ha. I could only imagine what people would believe to be true or not about me.. but I do have a kid and I am married =). I don't know that I would really take the time and effort to create a lie, my memory is too bad.

i've grown up with this site so i haven't lied as far as i know but i was a stupid kid when i first got on here so i could have but that is all part of growing up. i don't know what people believe to be true or not about me either tabitha. I don't have the smarts to think of such an elaborate ongoing lie and be able to have the interest to keep it up almost a decade on. XD

i've always posted to get things off my chest or mind and never really though about what people make of it. come to think of it, i might sound fake to some as i've done a lot of moving around. but yeah i don't think i'd have the energy for this as well. nor the memory.

And yeah, it is pretty ironic, but at the same time relatively unsurprising. It would do two things, simultaneously attract attention to him (as the one who uncovered the dirt on people) while at the same time distract the attention from his own deeds.

I'm a bored nub who likes studying people so i find this whole incident quite interesting in a way, the way y'all say he was the one to reveal maya and stuff -- pure projection. like someone said I too started to ponder over who else could be a fake identity around here, besides the obvious ones xD

i admit i'm one to, usually out of immense boredom, prank/play with my friends/acquaintances being someone else but that'd last literally minutes with me eventually revealing it's me. but 6-8 odd years? frack. tough part about lying is you can never remember with what info you lied

I know.. I had never anticipated getting married either.. but it's a good life =).. and thank you.. I'm very proud of my son, he's beautiful and he's an endless amount of fun. =)

back to the thread:

you have to imagine it all collectively and try to see if it really makes sense together.. it was weird to everyone, but no one really wants to go through all the trouble of arguing about it when he was so angry anyway... but he's sick all the time, constantly having things going on.. if he really did have a brain tumor--he wouldn't be physically fit to play hockey-- nor would he come out of surgery with a head full of hair (like the pictures). G always talked about having an addiction to pills, being in and out of rehab and the likes.. that guy didn't have that problem.

You could tell by the pictures that Mike and Mal were together and perfectly happy.. and I always wondered why there were never any pictures of 'kristin' in all of this profiles and such... I saw what I think to be a real picture of her, because I do think she was real.. and she looked rather normal... just like the kind of girl that the skinny boy in the collared shirt would have dated.

I remember years ago I helped him write a letter to her because in a fit of rage he broke a bunch of shite and went on with a crazy fit against her.. and I believe that really happened... but I guess just somewhere along the way... things just got messed up in his head.

I do think there is still the possiblity of leading ppl on on purpose, just for the fun of it. We all like to pull a prank .. it's evil though if you cross a line and know that ppl are going to get involved.

I don't even know anything about him harassing Kara.. I do know that it's one thing to not see someone from across the country.. but to not see someone that supposably leaves 2 hours away? I believe that's her fault.
