Does anyone else here know of or have any experience of Gopher? I need to write a report on it as part of my course, but neither of my web browsers have Gopher support (I use Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 and Netscape 7.1)

Can anyone recommend any easy to use web browsers that support Gopher?

I assume you're referring to Gopher Billing and Scheduling software?

If so, then you'd firs tbetter make sure you have wither Windows 98SE, NT, or XP. It won't run on any other operating systems.

No, I mean the Gopher protocol. From what I know of it, it was created after the ARPA project was completed and was designed to do much the same as the more modern HTTP protocol. My problem is that it's now so outdated that I can't use that protocol with either of my web browsers

I think that Lynx is the best browser to go for to view Gopher Pages for casual browsing.

This Site has a page on some different browsers and using Gopher.
The link works for me in IE6.

Here you have a description of Gopher protocol.

I'm sure you'll find any information you need for your report: protocol support in web browsers
