It's absolutely AMAZING to make out to Dashboard Confessional's "Vindicated"....that is,
if you like the song, and if you like the person you're making out with...
Hope I helped a little?!

Dazzlingly Yours,
Princess Emily

Only One - Yellowcard

This song is about the girl being the only one he has ever dumped. But it is intentionally written and sung in a classic "you're my only love" style, with extra effort put into making that classic theme appear obvious, straight-forward, and hard to not hear the first time you hear it. (or for some here, everytime you hear it :-) If you really look at the words, however, you find a very smartly crafted hoax on the listener. But not a real hoax ot the writer: the poor boy doesn't know how to break up, can't even give her a real reason for breaking up -- he just knows he has to -- "here I go" -- and so he "so dishonestly" leaves this breakup note. (There are many more hints in the song, but I thought I wait for questions / flames. :-)

So how would this be an unrequited-love song? Simple: You have to let him/her go in your mind. A breakup in your mind. You'll feel better. It's definately unhealthy to wax on unrequited love. There is nothing to do about unrequited love. You can't make someone love you. You can't even earn someone's love. It wouldn't be love, that unselfish, compassionate, merciful love. So break up with him and wait for the next love.

Does any one know of any songs from the other side, the other point of view... instead of the person who loves someone they can't have... are there any songs about someone who wishes that another person didn't love them like that?

xxxDARKIRISxxx:

That song is called I'm Stupid, and its sung by Ana Johnson. and to answer someone else's question Alanis Morissette made a song called Uninvited, that I think is from the other point of view.

I have some other songs too:

Alanis Morissette - You Oughta Know (more about he left her for someone else, and how the new one isn't as good for him - she is angry)
Avril Lavigne - Things I'll Never Say
Coldplay - Shiver
Coldplay - What If (The feelings about being nervous if you do something wrong)

and more, dont have them right now though .

Well, isn't this a 'nice' topic to talk about, yet rich in artistic creations?
"foolish games" from Jewel clearly reminds me of my situation--it's really the me-him situation in this song...
there is also Damien Rice's album O that is an inspired and beautiful description of the strong feeling of love towards persons who are more or less responsive to our feelings...

..and for the other person's perspective--I guess Texas with "I don't want a lover" says it all
