I'm having trouble creating a square root program in c++. I don't want to use a .00001 * 2 = root else .000002 * 2 = root. I don't want to use the to the power key or square root key. The standard formula is x to the power of .5 =root.

...I'm not sure how else to explain this.

i'll chime in here... i dont think anyone has "the right to say whatever the hell I want when somebody comes into my thread, and starts making random, childish and just plain stupid comments."

No, I don't need anything. It's the people who hijack my thread who need something, and they need to realize that what they're doing is rude and disrespectful...

Alright, this is just getting stupid. One, Jordan, look around at all the other threads, every single thread gets hijacked, no one's going out of the way to just annoy you. Secondly, if they do hijack you're thread you don't need to react, just go along with it, or keep the original idea of the thread alive, by mentioning. Three, please stop the excessive swearing, just because you're angry, it doesn't mean you need to swear at people.

I think it'd be a bit more appropriate to change it rather than watch it.

I'm sorry, Ray. I really am, I'm just sick of people hijacking my threads! It happens to every single one of them!

You know, no one really hijacks any threads. All threads eventually stya on topic, you just have to learn to allow the distractions, no matter how many pages they last, and stop being so paranoid about what happens in your threads. You don't own the forum, nor are you helping to fix all the problems you could possibly think of by whining and complaining about them. Whether valid or not, nobody likes a person who winges about everything. As odd as this may sound to say to a 14 year old, but grow up.

Back to page one and the function you laid out in the third post...

My programming tip of the day is to set the return type of the main function to an integer and then return the value 0 at the end of it. more efficient programming pracise since every function needs to return something and most modern systems don't like the null value being churned out from a main function

Yeah, I knwo that one, but I lik putting "void main()" anyways! lol It saves the "return 0;" line at tthe end.
