Alright, so, I was talking to one of my friends the other night, and he posed a question.

He asked me, "Why aren't there any songs about being happy and single?"

Now, I'm not looking for the ones that are like "I'm so happy you're gone," or "I'm happier without you," but ones that are just about being happy being alone.

The only one I can think of is "Got No Strings" from Pinocchio.

Anyone have any ideas?

Ahh this bugs me too - 99 percent of songs are about being in love or being heartbroken.

Listen to some political punk/rock songs, they're not talking about being single, but they're not talking about love or heartbreak or couples either. Refreshing...

Or, there's songs about friendship, rather than love. Like Randy Newman's You've Got a Friend in Me

Or, (and I can't believe I'm mentioning this) there's - I Don't Need a Man, Pussycat Dolls.

Ooo, this is an interesting one. Yeah there aren't a lot of songs about this topic...the closest one I can think of is The Starting Line - Need To Love. The chorus goes, "do you need to love someone?", asking if romantic love is really necessary to get through this life. Would love to hear if anyone knows more songs on this topic.
