I managed to miss Glastonbury, V2002 and Reading/Leeds festivals (the 3 big UK festivals) this year because of exams/work/lack of money at booking time, so anyway, I wanna make up for it by going to as many live gigs as poss.
Was wondering if anyone had seen a particular band live that was great and if anyone had any recomendations at all, I could see if they were touring over here. I am into indie, hip hop, rock mainly.
Ally.
PS: I'll start it - best band I've seen live recently = The Strokes - must go see!

Thrice is probably the best live band I've ever seen. Story of the Year is also really good, they're really exciting to watch.

Xzibit was verrry good, very energetic and fun.. and i was so close to him i could practically yank his chain off so it made the experience even better.
I've only seen 3 other concerts... Beyoncé was alrite in 2007, fun concert, good dancing but her voice was average. Havoc from Mobb Deep wasn't too into it i'm afraid. Estopa, a spanish pop-rock group were amaze.
Xzibit and Estopa for the win!

@ Bucephalus : well i'm glad you enjoyed method man's performance since both my brother and I are going to see him in november, im hoping to hear "Mrs International" but my brother reckons it's highly unlikely

who is he touring with? Like is it just him or guys from Wu Tang or what? I saw him with Redman at my upper class, white college town venue and they still tore the walls off the place. left with my jaw on the floor

Method Man and Redman in Razzmatazz, Barcelona 14/11. I know Razzmatazz is a silly name for a venue but it's absolutely massive, 5 huge rooms, think Ibiza club room size.. I'm just hoping there'll be enough people going because there weren't many in the xzibit and mobb deep concerts hence the "i could practically yank his chain off" in xzibit's concert, but that was a very, very small venue anyway. All the better
No doubt they left your jaw on the floor... these people hardly ever disappoint, i think most rappers sound the same if not better live .

depends who it is... i saw some up and coming guys live at the same venue who were terrible... if Meth and Red are half of what they were when i saw them you'll be speechless. they just totally own the entire crowd. they're just true talented rappers and they sound great raw

The Manics. Public Image Limited, if you enjoy their songs (which I do). They sound exactly as they would on the album.
