zeppelin have wider range
bigger fan base

plant: top 5 rock singer of all time +
page: top 5 rock guitarist of all time +
bonham: top 5 rock guitarist of all time +
jones: top 15 rock bassist of all time = owns ramones

That list don't mean shit. It doesn't matter how good you are, it matters the quality. and big whoop if they have a wider fanbase. That don't mean shit either. Ramones did something different. Many bands were copying the electric blues thing with big guitar solos. Ramones actually did somethign different and that's why their fan base isn't "bigger".

I also think the Ramones were more influential. When I hear a Ramones song I say "If they can make music, I can" and alot of other people felt the same. Whereas Zeppelin "I can't do that, too many guitar solos"

I don't care if you like the Ramones or not, I'm just saying they have a bigger impact and I like their music better.

I like Zeppelin too so don't think I hate them.

The ramones I feel start the push towards pop music. Short, catchy songs. Easy beats. Basic Lyrics. They created the formulae for boy bands and so much of the crap that is around today,and for all those reasons i don't like em much

Led Zeppelin on the other hand had musical skill pouring out their ears. They inspired people to pick up the guitar/drums and practise hard core so they would be that good and as a result we get the metallica, guns n roses, pantera type bands with high pitched ear bleeding guitar solos.

Easy to see which one i like better

If you had asked me less than a year ago, I probably would have said Zeppelin, but lately the Ramones have become, in my eyes, just about the coolest thing ever.

it is stupid to try and compare such artists. ramones were punk and the led was rock. that's like comparing bach and the sex pistoles. i like both very much, and don't believe that these two should be placed in the same group. ramones (though not as bad as the sex pistoles) can not play as well as led, but they were just as influencial.
