of course, china is good and all, but it just can't compare to the freakin superpower of the world.

The US isn't a superpower anymore. It's the world's only hyperpower

I know there's an informal wager going on between the US and China to see who comes higher up on the medal table at this year's Olympics. Statistically, China has a better chance of winning because they have a much larger Olympic team - more athletes in more events.

I wasn't disagreeing with you about the high standard of the US athletes - I'm just saying that I think that China will get more medals this year

no. i was actually talking about the relative hotness of the atheletes, if you know what i mean.
i have a friend that's korean, i have nothing against china. but the u.s. is still unstoppable, and will continue to be like that until everyone else catches up.

actually, i've always thought that each country should have the same amount of atheletes. why is it that some places can have 40, when some have 4? i always thought that was the one unfair thing about the games. but.....if the u.s. or china only put out 4 atheletes, they would be just about the best in the world. compared to a smaller country that only had 5 to choose from, right? it's tough.

I think many ppl here don't really understand about China.
China is BiG but most of the area are villages and highlands. They have extremely climate. So, it sounds that it is impossible to force that ppl to be an athlete.So in whole China, only 10% residents may be chosen.
