Good News Everyone!

As Prof. Farnsworth often says in Futurama

I know we have milestones for good news from individual members' achievements!

I know we have Randomness #1 to #188 (as I write this) for good news of any other personal type.

But with all the bad news in the world (fake news and real news)... We need a daily dose of good news items here so I'll try to search out and find these.

LSI used to have a daily poll----that's long gone---asking members about their feelings for question of the day. Well this brings back some of that memory with a good news of the day moment to share.

Does not have to be about the member (we have Randomness and Milestones for those.

No sarcastic quips please! Saying something that is good news to one group and would be perceived as bad news to other groups.

General rules of the Forum apply here too.

Special thanks to Celine for suggesting this with her request for "good news" today!

Its finally here!

Today's the day!

The one many of you here have been waiting for!

Um... What's that got to do with James Corden's Carpool Karaoke? You mean a French programme did it sometime before him?

If I could, I would be singing out loud alongside him.

Just so everyone is up to date on that conversation Celine....

You wrote this in the Randomness #188 thread on page 131:

When did James Corden start his Carpool Karaoke, please?

i'm too tired to check for the right year. And BTW, I mean : as a small sequence in some TV show, not the full CK TV show itself. Just like, in France, Le Petit Journal was one little part of Le Grand Journal from 2004 to 2011, when it became a full show on its own until 2017. Bye bye.

We had the kind of same programme (like Carpool but on its own) on French TV that year. And I'm sure Corden's version was part of a programme before becoming one of its own. So, did he start his Carpool in 2006 or something?

I wish I could have the answer for you! Maybe then that would be good news. I only watch James Corden for his funny, fun time, carpool karaoke or if he has a guest I like to see.

A good news from one of my fave French radio hosts on Twitter.

What a surprise ! To be honored for the 45 years of my radio show on @RTLFrance by the famous #CMA in Nashville at the backstage of the legendary @BridgestoneArena. I was very amazed. Thank you so much #CMA Thank you #Nashville !

So, Georges Lang was in Nashville this weekend, to be part of the CMA Fest as reporter/musical expert for his weekly radio show WRTL Country - I'll listen to the full debrief next Friday (June 15). See, I'm not much a country fan, but Georges recently celebrated the 45th anniversary of my favourite musical radio show, Les Nocturnes - it's been aired on France's first radio since 1973. The Frenchman has been a fan of American music for a long time, and every day of the week at midnight, he proposes (currently) one hour of either country, folk or rock. (And I've won contests eight or nine times while listening to it, last time was on May 9! )

You know, the year the show turned 30, I started listening to it on a summer night at home (the radio set I used is still there, but since late 2015, I have another one on my desk). Not a very faithful fan at the time, but got seriously hooked on it around 2014/2015.

Sorry I did not post about Les Nocturnes' 45th anniversary last month, I've been a busy bee between May 21 and May 26.

and...

And I've won contests eight or nine times while listening to it, last time was on May 9!

Tobacco-Free Month starts today in France, mostly to help people quit.

* offtopic :
As for me, I have stopped about 4 years ago - even though I was an occasional smoker.

One for Jeff :

A satellite has been sent by Japanese/Indonesian/South Korean scientists and engineers to explore the hidden face of the Moon.

Unless it's fake news made in Asia, I cannot believe it. Chinese are said to be specialists in counterfeiting and not tolerant with journalists, aren't they?

I have to remember this each year....
Then I can get a whole pizza just for me....usually the bigger sized Sicilian one --where I claim all four thick crusty corners!

I was thinking too much about rock music (ie. Live Aid that happened at Wembley in '85) before you put the link!
Thanks anyway.
