Chatroom Trivia Bot?

yeah, I think it'd be fun. it's surely something liven up the chatroom.

Cool Idea.

Maybe you could do something with like "what 70's band did ______?" (and you the blank would be filled in, but we would have to guess which band).

Or you could have us fill in a word for song or a band name

Or you could ask for facts about a band like "who plays bass for the chili peppers?" and then someone answers

oooh bot games are fun. there are tons of them on IRC. even i would go there if there was one of those.

That'd be a good idea . I was on another chatroom that had the same thing, it was great fun for me and the people in there. If you could make one all the power to you!

yeah, I'd assume this would be something that should be passed by Ray before someone goes and makes up chatroom bots

No, it's a bad idea, because then I will be in the chatroom all the time, heh.

Honestly, I think it's a good idea, when I used to use the MSN chatrooms, they had those everywhere, they were fun.

Been trying to get Ray, but he just hasn't come online lately.
I was getting restless and went ahead and made it, but I put it in a private room so that no one gets annoyed by it. Is that ok?

Its pretty basic and I've got to add questions and stuff so don't expect much, it was just a fun project...

well be patient with Ray he's got alot going on... just because you want it done now doesn't exactly mean HE wants it now heh.

and I'm not quite sure what you are talking about... MAKING a bot? (well I get the making of a bot, but I didn't know you could just throw something into the chatroom like that.. without admin rights or something?)

Here's what I've done. Basically whatever I've made isn't permanent like Snap or anything. It only works while I'm in the room.
People who use IRC might be familiar with this sort of thing.
I wrote a simple computer program that reads whatever is typed in the chatroom and then sends automatic responses from me...
So its as if I were sitting aimlessly in the chatroom, responding to commands people typed in, but I'm not, the program is doing it.

You can have this game/bot with a certain method of playing I just thought about. No specific category or subject, instead the questions will be like.. what is 167+742? what letter comes before f?

You know, this could be a "Reflex" category or something , to go along with trivia categories such as music, movies, history or whatever it may be =)

its good though.

i think you may of made so your name dosnt time out.
because your not actually in there right now
and no-one has typed any of your codes in about 15 minutes
but your still not "in-active"
and it normally does that after 5 minutes. lol

Though I think and hope Ray will appreciate such an attraction in the chatroom and create a permanent trivia bot. *shrugs*

Chat is gonna suck regardless... But in all seriousness, all sarcasm aside, if some kind of bot is made or suggested, I'd expect a tleast a year till it is actually implemented judging by how slow Ray does everything.
