Dexys Midnight Runners
Alias: Dexys
Alternate name they began using in 2012. For searchability reasons, though, I imagine it'd be best to keep their map under Dexys Midnight Runners, especially since they had their biggest hit "Come On Eileen" under that name and that was when they experienced the most success, so that's likely what people would search for.

Oingo Boingo
Alias: Boingo
They only used this alias on their final album from 1994. They reverted to Oingo Boingo afterwards.

!!!
Alias: Chk Chk Chk
The band's correct name is written as !!!, but I believe due to former site restrictions, the pronunciation of the band name was added as a parenthetical (so it was under "!!! (Chk Chk Chk)"). It seems that it's possible to have symbols-only artist pages now, so I renamed it to just !!!. However, Chk Chk Chk should be added as an alias for both searchability reasons and the fact that they're normally referred to by the pronunciation in official materials (official website, Facebook, YouTube, etc.)

If it's possible, please swap the primary name and the alias on Death From Above's page. They changed their name back to Death from Above 1979 as of their last album, meaning that the primary name should be Death from Above 1979 and the alias should be Death from Above.

Foo Fighters
Alias: Dee Gees
The band used this "disco alter ego" name on the first half of their Hail Satin album last year, which consists of Bee Gees covers. The name is also listed in the "also known as" section at the top of their Wikipedia infobox.

Why a new method
I never was quite happy with this old method. Old material released under the old name was also changed. I prefer to use the new name only for new releases, old material should not get a name change. And that's possible now, nice.
How it works
When an artist changes its name, it's added as new artist. The map with the old name is linked to this new map. With this link all content of the old map appears in the new map as if it belongs to the new map.
Example
The album "The Saga Continues ..." was released by "P. Diddy" as he called himself back in 2001 at the time of the album release.
Currently he calls himself Puff Daddy. The map of with former name "P. Diddy" is linked to the "Puff Daddy". The result is that the album "The Saga Continues ..." is listed in the "Puff Daddy" map.
Request link
There is no contribute-tool yet available to create links. For the moment you can use this thread to request links. I'll process them by hand. Please include in your request:
1) the name and url of the current name
2) the name and url of the former name that need to be linked to the current name
