Hi! I thought I'd post a fun poll. I want you guys to guess how many, if any, unread emails I have in my primary email. Edit: I have had my email for 21 years.

After enough people have voted, I'll reveal the answer.
1 001- 5 0004 (19.0 %)vote
25 001-30 0003 (14.3 %)vote
1-1 0003 (14.3 %)vote
5 001-10 0003 (14.3 %)vote
35 001+2 (9.5 %)vote
15 001-20 0002 (9.5 %)vote
10 001-15 0002 (9.5 %)vote
30 001-35 0001 (4.8 %)vote

If you have even this many unread emails, that's just sad.

Hedging the bets here so one of us covers each choice!

After I voted I thought of the logical missing piece of information (I see once you vote in a Poll, you can't change the vote, only edit the typed words!)
What's missing? How long have you had your primary Email? <1 year? 1 to 4 years? 5-9 years ? Over 10 years? see? That would make a big difference in how I'd answer, but I made an educated guess dependent upon your age and age of general use of Emails in the Internet.

Similar to guessing how many jelly beans are in a jar on the counter at the local Pharmacy contest! (large or small size beans, size of jar, how were they poured or placed into the jar, (Bond reference) were they shaken or stirred to get in there....

So same as Emails---
Ah! more questions than I have answers for!
Do you have a limit that would keep you opening up and discarding junk Emails? Do you have a spam Email janitor program (commonplace today, but if the account is years old, the older ones would be junk mail before that program was created---and hanging around waiting to be deleted!).

Oh I see clock for Editing ran out.......

Maybe you can read my suggestions for questions to answer and rewrite the poll again with some of those questions answered, (maybe others can think of more questions to ask) before we vote (again!) and see if that makes a difference in how we voted. I can explain when I see your response at the big "reveal" of your unopened Emails at the end of this time period.

So I've been on the edge of my seat because I want to know the answer. When do we find out?

This is probably way too generous because I'm the type who must have 0 unread e-mails at any given time. I can't fathom how people let thousands of e-mails pile up!

İf you ask all my E-Mails, this is ten times for thirtyfivehhousand, or let me say that the whole number is aproximately threehundredandfiftythousand.
But all of them are old mails, if I read now they doesn't give anything to me.
I am really lazy for reading my E-Mails.

I don't think so, because I lost the passwords of the E-Mail adresses.
Also I was entered lots of Yahoo Groups, some of sociall medias, all of them were coming from their notifications.
And I didn't have so much time for reading, because life continues, and internet cafes weren't free.
Now the number is aproximately six thousand which I'm using E-Mail addresses, the first one was thirteen years ago.
Thann you.

Ok, my turn to guess

I assume:

1) With "unread" emails you mean "spam". Or else nice emailing with you
2) You use that email address to sing up for stuff. Once you throw your email in the internet machine, then you're doomed, spam will find you.
3) You have no spam filter installed so spam will find your inbox.
4) You actually don't read your spam.
5) Spam is hitting your inbox @ say 10 emails/day on average over those 21 years.

That makes 21 * 365 * 10 = 76,650 emails. So I "should" go for 35,001+

But, I smell a trick question. Your email provider probably allows you to store emails up to say ...... 10K. So I go with 5,001-10,000

For my email, spam deletes itself after 30 days I think.

When I were telling that I had thirtyfivethousand mails in my inboxes, none of them were spam. May be they came from social medias or birthday reminders. But if I add spams the whole number can increase threehundredthousand.

I call bullshit on that. Theres no way a provider allows you to freely hold onto 35000 emails, nevermind 300,000

Why the hell would you pay for an already free service? lol

My second email has over 2000 in the inbox and 1500 in the spam. So there's no way in hell that he has that many emails and same with Scott. Just no way.

It sounds like ATESGUNES is referring to multiple accounts. But I definitely have more than 35 000 emails in my hotmail account. 28 000+ unread, and that's probably not even half.

Thanks for a VERY complete and informative discussion about Emails Ray!

Yes! Most Email providers have a tab hidden away somewhere where you can request "super" or "max" or etc names storage for anything you want to keep higher than the "free" version. So without roxcyn telling us more about his Email account (or accounts---still has not clearly said if its just one account for 21 years or more than one!)

Why the hell would you pay for an already free service? lol

Also some people do that .....pay for extra storage...
because if you don't access the account every ______months (varies by provider), they will warn you by an "email" to your secondary account...they then can close that Email and erase all your Emails!...That is what free Email accounts can and will do!
Paying for Email means its about as permanent an Email address as you can get on the Internet today. People can always find me that way.
