What's new

You probably already noticed the new points system on LSI.

The idea is that you can collect points for being an active member on the site. Member activity (including collected points) can be found in activity overviews. Cool leaderboards show what members contribute the most to LSI.

Ok, go to an artist, album or song page, or the overall leaderboard and activity pages to see it in action.

New VIP level calculation

There is more! The points you collected will be the new base for calculating your VIP level (*see detailed explanation below). Currently, your VIP level is based on the amount of time you spend on LSI. This idea is a bit out dated. The new contribution/points- based system is more fair. The idea is also that it triggers everybody to contribute to the (music) content. LSI is a crowd driven content site, so building a better LSI depends on people like yourself.

Your average amount of collected points of the last 100 days determines your VIP level for the next day:

Basic: 1 point
Bronze: 5 points
Silver: 10 points
Gold: 25 points
Elite: 50 points

When the new VIP level calculation will be active

December 1st, it's Contributor Day again. There is no better day to launch this new calculating system then this day. So from December 1st (2016) the new system will be active. Curious to what your new VIP level will be? The new VIP calculation is already running in the background. Check out your profile. There
you'll see your new VIP level for today. (Again, this new VIP level is not active yet untill December 1st).

Thanks once again for these updates! I'm especially pleased to hear that you're doing away with the VIP system being based on how often you're always on the site - I always hated that with a passion. I spend less time on the site than I used to, but I get a lot of work done in the short amount of time I am on the site, so I often found my VIP level dropping despite me doing the same amount of work. It definitely was very frustrating and I'm glad to see you're finally revamping that (it was in desperate need of it!)

Yup, you'll get points for reviewing. Everything that shows up in your activity (check your profile) will give you points.

I think the amount of work u do is not as important as what you do. I often wish I could just delete some regretful stuff.
But I do modify some stuff...I like LSI. ⏰
