July 1st, today is the release date of 3 updates.

[B]Featured song[/B]

After 3,756 daily polls (over 10 years!) LSI stops with the poll in its current format. Awww... But don't be too disappointed, we have something new! We combined the daily featured artist with the poll. The result : a daily featured song! Every day LSI selects a brand new hot song and we would like to know what you think of it. In the menu bar (next to the LSI search form) you'll find a link to the featured song to listen to it and vote. It pretty much explains itself, so check it out! The featured song also replaces the daily featured artist which was found on the frontpage.

[B]New VIP System[/B]

More big changes, LSI changed its VIP system. With this new VIP system is much transparent and much easier to climb your way up to higher VIP levels. Your VIP level is now updated daily instead of monthly. Checkout your VIP progression at the completely renewed VIP status page. And an extra nice addition worth to mention; advertising is now off for all members. Read all ins and outs about the new VIP system in the help section.

[B]LSI Music Player[/B]

The LSI music player is hot, so time to give it a facelift. The following updates make it more user friendly for sure : 1) For you're the "favorite songs" playlist you can now add and remove songs directly in the player. 2) You can sort the songs by dragging them with your mouse in the order you would like to hear them.

Let me give it another go.

Okay, so essentially, each time you receive a message alert from a replied topic, you'll only get one message instead of multiple. In that one message, it will say who has posted in the specific topic.

I finally understand. If I leave the message unread, more new replies to the topic are added to it. However, if I read it, then I get a new message about other new replies.

I don't understand how it's possible for it to add the notifications about new replies to a message that's already been sent, but I do now understand what's happening.

Well, I don't agree with you since you can have the élite status faster than before. The VIP system shouldn't have gone easier! Putting a daily update instead of a monthly one, maybe most agreed to follow the new one - I did not take part in changing it - but making it easier to get the élite status, no, no. That doesn't please me.

I thought the VIP status was only based on
- how long you've been on this site (10 years)
- activities (artist moderating)
The monthly update was so much better - I'm so tired of seeing around 700 points a day (so the total earn more than 1,000). As... I'd rather get a monthly salary instead of daily one, and... There are days I wish I weren't paid at all, mostly when I don't post anything - purposely absent. Updating the VIP status daily (equals) earning a daily salary here, even if there's no money in that case.

As for other news, I like the "activity" tab anyway.
Last not but least : I've accepted to leave forum moderating... For a long while, yeah. That's one sacrifice less.

You know you're the only person that's so obsessed with the VIP system, and probably the only person on the site that actually checks it every day.
You're probably also the only person that doesn't like the "new" system (which we've had for over a year now). Ray isn't going to change it back, so you might as well do us a all a favour and stop complaining about it.
At least now I finally understand what you mean about getting "paid" on here and getting your "salary". That one had always confused me.

Well, you probably didn't take part in it because you aren't the one who runs the site, what with you not being Ray and all. It's not like we all voted on it or anything (not that a vote would have really mattered to you anyway)

Well, I'm sick and tired to see that my level is "élite" from day to day - seeing it going from "silver", then "gold" and "élite" in the month is what I miss most. There should be no "daily average points" to consult anymore.

Jeff : just like the fact I can't edit my albums/songs comments anymore? DO I have to wait for my ban meter to get lower than 5% to have this right again?

Your "elite" level is based on how much you post right? Okay, well you post a lot, hence the reason you're elite. Does that make sense? Or no?
