Site Updates

You probably already noticed the changes on the site, but let's introduce them officially

Front page

The biggest change on the site is the new frontpage. It gives a nice summarization of all major elements that can be found on the site and now perfectly represents what LSI stands for; a site where music and people come together. To give an impression of the dynamic character of the site, the frontpage puts a different artist in the spotlight every day at the 'Featured Artist'. Often this will be a popular artist, sometimes one less popular.

Post Rate

At each post there is a small 'rate'-option displayed, that allows you to mark the post as 'good' or 'bad'. The rates of all members combined gives a clear picture while browsing through a thread which posts are interesting to read and which are not. This data makes it also possible to add some kind of 'trash-filter' in the future that can be set in your myletssingit and does not display posts rated lower then what you entered.

Picture Upload

I updated the picture system. The maximum size of a picture is now 250K (was 100K), the quality of the uploaded pictures is much higher and the thumbnails are nicely resized to a square.

I LOVE the new front page

But what i didn't liked is that the whole pictures that I've uploaded was removed.. like Rihanna, Avril Lavigne, Kelly Clarkson, Fergie...

Great work on the main/home page. It really sets a high-profile impression of the site.

As for the ratings, I understand that this update is a bit at an experimental standard, but perhaps you should consider giving these ratings to threads aswell (an idea which was solely put forward by PinkFloyd)

It would turn out to be very useful, indeed. As the only way to differ between the thousands of threads in a category (currently), is whether they are sticky or not, or by the last time they were posted in.

The new front page is great, i love it.
and the post rate thing is cool, but i agree you should add it to topics too, and have topic rate, so its easily seen which are the good, or bad topics, if people rate them.
And the pictures look alot better now, from the aritsts ones i've seen, but did you know the being able to comment on artist pictures, like you can member ones, still dosnt work.

I adore the new front page, it is so fresh and orange (I love orange) But why did you removed the Hot Albums part from it?? I even prefer it over Hot Artists part but can't they be all on it??

Kinda desagree, because if I post some news of an artist (they can be in spanish or english), and people who dont like that artist can said no to the reviews... thats not funny.

Wouldn't it make more sense for the 'featured artist' to be someone who isn't as well known as some? Popular artists are featured all over the place and with high consistency. In this age of commercialism and the near monopoly over the airwaves it's become increasingly harder to find and discover new artists, or just an artist not in whatever genre is popular at the moment. I for one would be more interested in reading about whatever 'featured artist' it was on a given day if it was someone I didn't know much about or hadn't heard about, than someone whose face and voice are all over tv and radio.

Hmmm.. I can see the rating system being abused big time by people who have issues with other members (lets face it, it happens), trolls or just people who simply have no moral fibre.

Its good in concept, but I can see many an issue coming from it. Other than that all the changes look fantastic
