That poor girl, can't imagine the pain she felt, it must've been truly excruciating.

I was always afraid of those drains after my mum told me this story about a girl who got her hair trapped in one and drowned, then I got a bit older and decided my mum was lying to me, then I got older still and realised she wasn't =(.

I cringed when I read this last week. It's crazy. To do such damage...that's a hell of a lot of force. I never knew that could happen but I've been so oblivious. I feel so bad for the girl. She loved swimming and now this happens. I think they should definitely create more drains to ease the force of the suction. If it works, why not? It would save many lives.

I don't think it'll change the safety issues much. This isn't the first time this has happened. I remember seeing an episode of Rescue 911 about the same thing when I was like 10.
