i was just gonna post this.

its really sad. i honestly never thought that dude would die considering the crazy stuff he did *&* never died. he just had a kid recently too didnt he? sadsad.

My buddies and I had so much fun with this on the Wow forums holy crap.

Stingray has defeated Steveirwin in a duel.

Though he died and all, I still laughed very very hard.

This sucks, I always liked the guy on TV. I figured it'd be a crocodile incident that killed him.

Can't say I'm totally surprised, it's not like he had an office job. He DID mess with wild, dangerous animals for a living on a daily basis.

Sad to hear, I saw it on Yahoo a few minutes ago.

I've never been a fan of his, but it's sad he died. He's done so much for Australian tourism...

I still find it ironic that he was filming a doco about how rays are beautiful creatures and saying they aren't to be so feared and then he dies...

All I can say is... Crikey!

He did something with his life that was important to him, and that he enjoyed. It's sad that he's gone, and I feel sorry for his family.

Of course, this is sad. RIP Steve, and he was so young too.

Ironic how he came into contact with so many very dangerous animals, and survived, but ended up falling pray to something so... well, a stingray!

Well, atleast he ended his days doing something he enjoyed, close to nature- perhaps a little too close!

Better than being bed-ridden or something, he'd have hated that.

I was so shocked to hear this - I feel for his wife and two kids he has left behind. He was a top legend and was just plain cool. RIP

It's pretty crazy with all of the dangerous things he's done that this would be the one to kill him. I read in one article that dying by a stingray is very rare. And there have only been 2 recorded deaths in Australia.
It's just horrible, he was too young.

poetic justice ... irony.... he comes face to face with creatures that would eat him alive and are so dangerous crocodiles and lions and panthers ... then gets stung by a jellyfish and dies.

I heard this on a news update yesterday evening and at first I didn't believe. I still don't fully believe - it's just so random. I know he had a dangerous job, and tempted fate all the time, but it's still such a shock.

the reason why it's such a shock is he seemed like such an invincible guy coming upto all these dangerous creatures and not getting harmed, then something small killed him.

I recall him saying that if he ever died while filming, that he wished it to be shown. Maybe not for kids to laugh at on the internet, but shown in some way.
