Good for her.. but it wasn't exactly natural (IVF). If the woman's lucky, she'll live till she's 80, and her child will be 17. Is that really fair on the child? I'm all for advances in science, but this is absolutely ridiculous. It seems like a case of people doing something just because they can.

I know. But I'm nearly 20 and if my mum died at this age it'd really cut me up, and I don't think I'd cope very well with it. Whereas when you're older you can handle things better I reckon.

This woman may have already gone through the menopause - that's nature's way of telling a woman that her body can't go through the stresses of reproduction to any degree of safety anymore. My concern is for the safety of both the mother and of the as yet unborn child.

I dont really agree with that but my little brother is only 5 and when my dad turns 60 he will be only 16. I know its prob a bigger deal being the mother at that age but still i really dont think age is a big thing.

I don't know how the mother can handle it...her grandson is probably a baby too...lets say, if thekid has ADD or something, they would be screaming all the time and running all over the place...and at old age you can't exactly chase after kids all the time...

There is nothing abnormal to be pregnant at this age and in some special conditions it happen just need to be taken care.
