| 1. stop talking Avril...it ends here...stop it, it has no relelvence..stop it
2. i have no other real point of reference here
3. i dont dress as goth and i dont care whats cool, whats in or what other people are doing, this is beginning to turn into a discussion on individuality...which doesnt exist...you are not a beautiful and unique snowflake...we are all part of the same compost heap...no matter how different you think you are...there is someone dressed like you who thinks the same

| I really hope it doesnt come back even stronger as a fashion trend. My sister is one of the most 'unblack' people I have ever met. She shops at limited too. When they started carrying 'punk' outfits she had to have them all. It was kind of funny to see my sister running around with her 5th grade friends all in black and depressing clothes. A bunch of people in the middle school I did that. They all wore mini skirts, and we came back from summer break, and all their nails were black, all dyed their hair black, and wore clothes from Hot Topic. I don't consider my self to be goth or a prep, somewhere in between. I love the colour black, and I think I look good in it, but I have alot of 'goth' friends, and man were they pissed. | 0 @ 18-12-2004 11:50 strokesfan101 | 41 posts
| i think it was weird that the goth look was in in the first place. nothing against it, but fashion mainstreamed the goth look? wasn't that originally created for the purpose of being different...outcasts even? what is this world coming to... | 0 @ 18-12-2004 11:53 NightHobbit | 23,475 posts
| the goth scene came in the 80's around the time the punk phase ended. | 0 @ 08-01-2005 21:12 Micki_Blue | 42 posts
| It's not a fashion statement...anyone that dresses goth because it's "coming back" needs to get a cross shoved up their ass. People dress that way because of their beliefs and because it's what they like to do, not because it's "in style" or whatever you like to call it. | 0 @ 12-12-2005 04:03 MetalChick123 | 65 posts

Yanked the words straight out of my mouth.
Go to Germany.
That's where you'll meet some true Goths, one that don't dress or act goth just because it's 'cool' or 'in'. | 0 @ 20-12-2005 20:39 perfect_12345 | 336 posts

Wow, that was quite possibly the most uninformed statement that was ever made. The fact that Hitler was from there should have NOTHING to do with the people who live there today, nor should it have any sway over the status of the country as a whole. That would be like an American refusing to go to Britain because they 'oppressed' us in the 1700's. Yes, what Hitler did wasn't right, and yes, he deserves to experience every single bit of pain that he inflicted on the people he murdered, but that doesn't mean that the rest of the world has to automatically hate Germany for the rest of time. What's past is past. MOVE ON.
And yeah, goth is coming back, if the growing number of scary-looking people at school is anything to go by. | 0 @ 20-12-2005 21:02 perfect_12345 | 336 posts
| dude I honestly dont care what you think about Germany. It's not just me, all my Jewish friends and even my parents have a probem with Germany
you're not Jewish, are you | 0 @ 20-12-2005 21:05 xMajinx | 13,401 posts

| She may not be Jewish, I may not be Jewish but a lot of my close friends are and not one of them have a problem with Germany or german people.
And anyway, wasn't Hitler technically from Austria? | 0 @ 20-12-2005 21:10 DeathByMonkeys | 24,877 posts
| I never once mentioned what I thought about Germany. I mentioned that I thought it was unfair of you to judge an entire country based on what one man, homocidal nutcase that he may be, did sixty years ago.
And no, for the record, I am not Jewish. | 0 @ 20-12-2005 21:13 perfect_12345 | 336 posts
| You guys don't get what I'm saying, do you.
I am a proud Jew. I am angry at what Hitler did to my people.
Do you get it now? | 0 @ 20-12-2005 21:17 perfect_12345 | 336 posts
| Also, I am not prejudice against German people. "I have a problem with Germany" means that I wouldn't like to GO to Germany because it would be too depressing.
DO YOU GET IT NOW | 0 @ 20-12-2005 21:18 DeathByMonkeys | 24,877 posts
| I understand that you are angry at hitler for what he did to your people. You have a right to feel that way, because what he did was disgusting and should never have happened in the first place.
What you're not understanding is MY point. You claim to have problems with GERMANY because of Hitler. Germany is a completely different thing from Hitler. The two are not synonymus. It isn't fair to the people or to the country itself to judge them based on one person.
But i believe we have strayed off-topic. Indeed, there are a LOAD of hardcore Goths around here, and they're rather scary-looking. I'm not sure WHY 50 facial piercings are necessary, but yeah.... | 0 @ 20-12-2005 21:18 DeathByMonkeys | 24,877 posts
| Never mind my huge long rant, then. *goes away* | 0 @ 20-12-2005 21:23 Pop_killer | 6,729 posts
| *sigh*...
I trust by goth, people dont mean everyone on the planet who owns a black piece of clothing, including shoes, or that all goths worship Satan and eat bat heads.
I hang out with alternative people, who are into gothic metal, dark metal, wear solid black etc. And I've met about 3 true goths in my entire life. None of them worship satan. The only people I know who "do" are minimoshers showing off.
Being a goth isnt just wearing black and getting your lip pierced. Its a way of life, that as far as I know very few people follow, and you cant just have a goth look as far as I know.
I will now apologise because I couldnt be bothered to read the whole thread and this has probably been said thirty-seven times already | 0 @ 20-12-2005 21:24 perfect_12345 | 336 posts
