So many reasons. For one thing...there's gotta be an uncaused cause.
For another thing, part of it is blind faith.
Part of it is a feeling.
Part of it has to do with how I was raised.
Part of it is, "you've got to stand for something or you'll fall for anything."
Part of it is, believing in God has led me to live a certain lifestyle, and this lifestyle...well I think I'm happier than most people *shrug*.
wow totally agreed, the same goes for me.

I believe in because he believes in me. The question you ask is as if i were to ask why you believe in your mother or father, or even lover. I believe, because not to believe would be ignoring what i know to be reality. and reality is that christ exist.

yet my mother, father, or lover is a physical tangible being that i have proof exists, as much as one can prove existence.
by simply saying you believe because he believes in you is circular logic. saying christ is reality without any proof to prove that besides your own thought is unreasonable. it seems your belief is based entirely upon faith rather than any sort of reason and logic. which is why i really can't say anything else to you.
a person who believes "simply because" without reason cannot be reasoned with. and that is how i think you are.

lack of proof.
and i have problems blindly placing my belief into something; in ther words, i can't place my belief into something unknown and try to reason it. i have little faith in the existance of god.

You will NEVER have tangible proofs, that's why religions are based on FAITH. Besides, we're human and so we have limited intelligence, thats why we can't logically reach a 'proof' that God exists, we have LIMITS. But God hasn't so that's why we don't understand Him. And thats why He is God and we aren't, wether you like it or not.

Because there are just so many things in life that can't be explained, so it must be a superior power's work.

oh so you think your word of 'mouth' (and cap locks doesn't define anything as right) will change peoples OWN views. When the words 'feel bad for their blindess' come in to use. It ususually signifies someone is ignorant. Ignorant to others views and way of lifes.

The fact is dudes - there is only one way to find out!
vandy | 02-06-2006 16:51
I agree that people telling other people how "wrong" or "blind" they are is short sighted and not a good tactic.
And I've seen it used plenty by people of ALL different beliefs. Including atheists and agnostics as well as Christians, Muslims, whatever.

My whole life it's always seemed as though something had to be there. Even before I really got taught anything about religion, or went to church. My family lives the faith, not preaches it, and just by how they act towards other people, I am convinced there has to be a God. Who's right about him, I could never say for sure, though I feel myself Jesus was really on the right track, and I get more and more sure the more I think about it that he was the son of God, or at the very very least, divine.
Jay_The_Viking | 02-06-2006 17:10
What I meant was - I saw God in those around me before I really got to be told about the Bible, and about church, and all that stuff.
manutd_4eva | 03-06-2006 00:52
Bcoz i do, i grew up in christianity, and i am not a crazy religious person...but i have faith in God.

I don't believe in that God that people always talk, the one that punishes you if you don't behave.. I do believe there's something up there, something that no one will ever understand, some kind of power.
