| Well, I just started school a couple of months ago after a year's break and homework is killing me... I know that a lot of you here struggles with the hell that is homework as well. SO I decided to make this thread!
You can post here for help with your homework, to complain and whine as much as you would want to, brag about your brilliant assignments, talk about grades or do whatever you'd like to as long as it's homework-related
Half fun people and enjoy...!

| im taking a wild guess here, cause im only in 8th grade.
I think its askin you to multiply the the nubers together like 36 1/2 (multiply that) and figure out which one is 8D...i guess... | 0 @ 11-09-2005 16:53 purple_hippo | 17,341 posts
| Nono 8D's just the exercise number, i don't know why i wrote it, lol. And i'm fairly sure my maths teacher wouldn't give us something that simple. | 0 @ 11-09-2005 16:55 purple_hippo | 17,341 posts
| Aah, nevermind. I'm going to go call somebody and probably find out i wrote the wrong exercise down. Thank you though. | 0 @ 11-09-2005 16:56 Dj_skits | 565 posts

| I hate vocabulary in history...theres no glossary, so we're basically screwed, then we have to memorize all these dates...and now we have to do 2 chapters this week! 2! and sure..vocab doesn't sound all bad, but we have to do our tests orally. So my teacher gives us 4 words to choose from, and we pick one, but of corse he'll pick the ones you studied the least, and then you have to give the date and all the correct facts relating to it. You only have from fri-wed (yeah, lots of time, but I procrastinate til monday) to get them all done, and then I have band practice from 4:30 til 9:00 then mr. kischer wants me to join jazz but i dont want to & im too stupid to say no, and they practice from 2:15-3:00 on tuesdays so I have no time whatsoever to get it all done, and instead here I am complaining instead of actually doing my work because I assume someone will forward me the vocab list..but I've already got the list from my same friend for the past 4 weeks and I really feel like I'm taking advantage of him...
I guess I'll do my work now... | 0 @ 20-09-2005 03:42 anoobis | 15,407 posts

| sure...but not AP American History...American history is the most boring thing on the whole planet...It also made me hate the early puritans so much that I'm not celebrating Thanksgiving.. | 0 @ 20-09-2005 04:00 Pippin247 | 2,632 posts
| see? got it from a friend, least its a different one this time, & I vow as all who read this as my witness, not to forward thisvocab list to anyone else. | 0 @ 20-09-2005 04:02 anoobis | 15,407 posts
| US history is the bomb. It puts so much of modern America into perspective. Makes you appreciate some things more and hate other things more too. Generally it made me a cynic. | 0 @ 20-09-2005 04:04 Pippin247 | 2,632 posts

| I hate History. Why the Hell did I take it for AS when I didn't like it at GCSE??? I am an idiot. My USA history teacher is an evil b*stard! Gah! He set this uber hard essay AND a 15 minute presentation! I hate him, he's evil... Grr. I hate, hatw, hate, HATE USA history. Damn you Americans... (no real offence intended).
I can't believe how much work I've got for the half term. It's a holiday! Holidays are meant to be breaks from the cr*p we get the rest of the year! Instead I get 4 essays, a presentation to write and about another million pieces of work I don't want to do. Damnit, I need a social life. Tomorrow may be my day off if the parental units are out all day... | 0 @ 25-10-2005 00:27 yumarlenehesayz | 3,893 posts

| NEED HELP. *hyperventilates*
I am so stressed, i have a piece of coursework to do for english and im struggling with ideas. I have to do a text transformation. Yup, very exciting stuff. Anyways here's what i mean by that ^ .
I have to transform a piece of literary (could be a poem, novel, short story, anything really) into something else (ie, change the genre, target audience, etc.). An example would be the fairy tale Cinderella (base text), roald dahl transformed it into a humorous modernised version in revolting rhymes.
^
That's basically what i have to do.
Now im thinking of actually using a roald dahl book as my base text, possibly georges marvellous medicine OR esio trot... but i dont know what to transform them into.
PLEASE BE CREATIVE FOR ME AND HELP! im very stupid and my brain hurts from trying to come up with an idea.
Or could you suggest another base text and what it could be transformed into. Just basic ideas, to help my creative juices to flow
if you help me, i will love you forever possibly marry you. | 0 @ 16-11-2005 14:29 andro | 42,248 posts
| Another example of transformation would be a modern adaptation of "The Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe. It was given a Star Trek backdrop (Quoth the Vulcan, "nevermore")
The possibilities really are endless once you start looking at it. Ones that tend to work best are things that are transformed into situations that people start to recognise a lot more. "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves" could be transformed into "Snow White and the Seven Batchelors on the Dole living in a Council House in the Suburbs" | 0 @ 16-11-2005 14:34 _AngelOfDeath_ | 5,872 posts
| I was thinking of doing a fairytale, with a twist... like maybe from the point of view of another character other than the main one.
Ive been considering the raven but ive never really read it until today lol and id prefer to write something i am more familiar with.
But thanks for your suggestions phil i wont marry you but ill be your personal randomness-tea-lady forever! lol.
come on you creative people, im an idiot and need your sexy brains to help me. |
