i actually didnt think that this year would be that bad, but now that school has started i know that its going to suck. i cant wait for summer again and its only been the first week. (sigh) oh well, just this year and next year and then at least i wont have to deal with the parentals anymore.

i dont understand the people who say they cant wait to get out of school. i love high school. its funner then a mofo. pissing off teachers is the greatest. teachers tell me im the reason they retire early, not sure what that means but im guessing it has something to do with the hell i cause. but hey, whatever floats people's boat.

and failing all your classes, losing your license, and not being able to graduate is just peachy as well.

its so touching to realise that I once did felt the same about school... But, do you realise that after school real life will await you with midlife crisis, derogatory bosses, rebellious teenagers and chronic back pain. And its never going to be end up for the better, you can only be numb and dull and apathetic which you once critisized your parents of being.

I do think that high school's not for everyone. I mean, it's tedious, it's redundant, and a lot of people just aren't meant to sit in a classroom for a good 6 hours a day with little breaks. Many times the material isn't covered with proper care, teachers lack the ability to relate with their students, and it's an all-around bore.

But for high school, it's so much more than that. It's the friends, the parties, the football games, the clubs, and everything that goes on when you're not sitting in the classroom because that is when you truly learn the most valuable lessons of your life. High school, just like anything else, is what you make of it.

Now that I've graduated, I can truly say that high school was the best four years of my life.

Sorry to get all sentimental; my best friend's leaving for college tomorrow and I've got another 14 days. But really, just try to make the best of it. These are the days.

absolutely agree
I've been out of school for a year and a half now and I'm workin on goin back
and life isnt that bad as long as you get through school and do well while your there
life is just getting through the day everyday for 5 days or 4 just so you can have fun on your weekends or buy tight new stuff
then you get a family and its gettin through the week so you can have the pleasure of gettin your beloved offspring a new gift or enough tight gear to be the coolest kid in school

if i could i'd be a student forever...quench my never ending thirst for knowledge

education is necessary to get somewhere on this planet

you want monotonous, and tedious...go work at a factory...same god forsaken job day in, day out 40 hours a week...you know what...no matter how good the money is...you'll end up either going insane, self medicated with booze or killing yourself...personally...i'd rather be learning something new than tightening bolts all day...i cant wait for school to start

I empathise completely, but the way I see it, I can spend all this bloody school turning myself into a future jaw dropping amazing adult.
To hell with it, you dont have to like it, just get through it well enough, besides I find there's a certain bitter sweet something in being a angsty teenager, after all, I just realised one day Im not going to feel like this anymore.... No more meaningless weeping which makes me feel like I have so much depth and Mystique, like that clone girl from Evangelion (her name escapes me right now)

I never ever thought I would feel this way but I actually miss school. I haven't had any classes since February and I miss it. Sometimes sitting for eight hours was a real b*tch but you get more than you give. Knowledge.

oooh, i despise school..it's so repressive of everything..

but work is only a stereotype if you make it, i know people that get up in the morning and go, "aw, yeah, great, i've got work today!" (and yes, they do work at a desk job) but at least when you work you don't have to wear the same clothes day in, day out and if you're a woman, you can wear trousers (that's a big thing for me)
and you're not constantly treated like a child, like my sister was complaining of that in her last year of school, and she was 18
and half your syllabus is for nothing, especially things like maths (really, who cares?) you could argue that nearly all subjects are useless unless you make a career out of it

i really cannot wait until i get out of school, and i plan to live my life the way i want it, which is why i'm going to do a drama degree, which is what i want to do, and i refuse to end up in some dead-end desk job

call me idealistic, but if i make it work, then school will have been a waste of time

I hate school in the sense that I don't think anyone should be forced to do anything they don't want to.

But I love school because I love learning. Learning is bliss. And well, school is silly when you get all these subjects you don't "need" or you're not interested in. Well yes, ground school sucks like that. And so does other schools that make you take something when you don't want it. But me, I really want to learn and if I have to take those subjects to learn something else I will.. I can assure you all that there will be moments in even the suckiest subjects where I'll find something interesting and worth while.

I like school b/c I get to see my friends. Teachers sometimes judge me by the way I look/dress before they get to know me, though. Which is why if I did something bad, well, it would be remembered. It's so stupid, but once they get to know me, a lot of my teachers like me. Plus, I actually like doing the end of the year tests. I have some weird disorder that makes me find them fun. Sick, right?

As i read the first posts of this thread i thought, ugh not another whining 15yo "i hate school" thread.... But, i have to admit i've read some sensed stuff as well (notably Anthonys post about how workin in a factory is way worse than school).

Really, kids, if u read what everybodys sayin here, most pple who are still in hs complain, and most pple who left it miss it. Doesnt it tell u something?

However, I hated every subject in school that wasnt english or art. I was super bored in hs so i would skip class to go get high. This was fun. I cant do it anymore cuz im a teacher and if i skip class too much a lot of pple notice im not there(haha). So quit complaining, do what u have to do for the next what, 2 - 3 years ?

Oh and if this is really impossible to go thru, u could start a revolution. As a teacher i would strongly envourage my students to reform the educational system. (im bein serious here)

I certainly hope that life gets better.
It's not the classes that bothers me. It's the breaks (don't know if that's what it's called ).
Normally I just sit around together with my twinsister and our friend, Anne. It's okay - most of the time. But doing that every day gets boring.
I wish that I wasn't so shy.

I hope that this year will go fast! - Or that soon something happens so that my life gets interesting.

I know that I'll miss school once I graduate, especially in my army time.

But meanwhile, school is like hell for me. I'm basically friendless, I heard my teachers sidcuss about me in the teachers' lounge, saying how stupid I am and how I'll never graduate respectfully. My teachers basically killed the love for school that I once had. Except for 2 teachers i can think of.
