| umm.. personally.. i think it just depends on that person and what they want to show about themselves from what they do show.. bc some ppl play the part that they only choose to show.. and sometimes.. not being true to yourself with showing who you are.. and just showing the side of you that just wants to fit in.. is not the wisest thing.. bc it just comes back to bit in in the @$$... | 0 @ 06-08-2004 17:00 ravenskiss | 7,497 posts
| i dont think anyone has individuality anymore because everyone is put into silly little groups like mosher, goth, towny, trendy, etc
so even if you do have the slightest bit of it you still belong to a group, and even then your bound to get copied by some trend setter who thinks you look remotely good | 0 @ 06-08-2004 17:04 thedecoy | 1,240 posts
| depends on the style, you know? and on the person and their personality | 0 @ 06-08-2004 17:08 Lija | 85 posts
| depends on your plane of existence! to other working class people individuality shines and is important but to the heirarchy in britain individuality is contradictive to the conformity that they want from us! | 0 @ 12-08-2004 09:19 the_sarah | 37 posts
| If individuality was in, how would that be an individual?
If all the so called individuals were told that listening to a certain band was cool, no doubt of how much they hated the band, most would probably say the liked it.
Inless, they are true individuals.
Then they still might say they like it, you never know.
A true individual is true to who themselves, they do what they want to do.. not what's 'cool'. | 0 @ 15-08-2004 21:04 SomeCallMeMaxx | 6,661 posts
| Sure it's in. But if it was in everyone would be an individual and it'd be a trend, therefore eliminating the individuality feature of it.
So it must be out.

| I think Individuality is dead where i live, Doesn't exist anymore.
Around me, all you ever see are girls wearing jeans, some kind of t-shirt, and probably a babyphat jacket.
A guy would be wearing sean johns or somethin like them half way down they booty, with an oversized t -shirt.
So i couldnt say if showing individuality was cool, since i dunno what it looks like lol | 0 @ 03-09-2006 13:57 stephanie8414 | 1,423 posts
| One of my favourite sayings: "You're unique... just like everyone else."
In some ways, everyone's all the same. In others, we're all different. I think it's pathetic when people try to "fit in", but it's not any better when they try too hard to be "different". There are some people who dress like everyone else, and will listen to any music that's in the Top 20. Other people will refuse to do anything that's popular or "normal". Both of those types of people are slaves to trends, but in different ways. I look down on both of them. People should just dress the way they like, listen to the music they like, and not care what anyone has to say about that. | 0 @ 03-09-2006 14:21 purple_hippo | 17,341 posts

| really, everybody is individual.
i really dont see why we group eachother.
for an example ill take goths (or just the style). even though they are put into the goth group each of them look different. same goes for every other group.
people are being individual if they are being themselves.. and wear what they want to wear. if they go for a 'look' then they arent really being individual.
but , with my ranting aside.
yes , it is good to be an individual person, because its just being who you are. | 0 @ 07-03-2007 03:49 soapapilla | 26 posts

that's actually really funny, because the whole 'being an individual' is the new 'fad' or something.
People think that because they dress outrageously they are being 'unique' but they aren't.... the rebellion of yesterday is the norm of today ... being an individual is wearing what you like... not 'what everyone else isn't wearing'.
If you let others choose your clothing for you.. you're just a tool.
