| Do you have a question about a certain type of faith? Or just a general question asking about what it encompasses? Ask these questions here, someone's sure to know something! |

| Okay, this is kind of a stupid question, but I'm going to ask it anyway because I believe the only stupid question is one not asked! Is it true that Catholics are supposed to remain chaste until marriage? Simply put: do you have to be a virgin until you're married? | 0 @ 31-08-2004 14:02 CDNRoycer | 1,617 posts
| yes, it's a sin to have pre marital relations according to catholics | 0 @ 31-08-2004 14:28 lil_minty | 11,159 posts

I really ejoyed your comments (previous page)
and am prompted to add one or two of my own that may clarify some points you both questioned/raised.
God is Energy. Thats why all the Masters have declared that God is infinate (always was etc.). Energy is Light.
We cannot realise the infinate with a finite mind.
Religion without science is lame, Science without religion is blind. | 0 @ 31-08-2004 16:21 iamtravel11 | 104 posts
| I think that most Christians - Catholic and Protestant - believe that it's a sin to have sex before marriage. | 0 @ 31-08-2004 16:39 SinsIndulgance | 102 posts
| Fornication is wrong in 9 out of 10 religions....including all christian/muslim/and Scripture affiliates. Fornication is not just adultery but sex outside of marriage whether cheating on your mate or having sex before a formal comittment.

In the begining was the Word etc.etc.
Not a spoken or written Word. No, this Word was/is the sound of energy. The Primordial Vibration. Energy cannot be destroyed nor created, it just changes form. i.e. if you put a match to the energy we call paper, it changes to heat, smoke, ash; it is not destroyed.
Everything is energy vibrating at a higher or lower speed depending upon its station in creation. Our thoughts are vibrations and when we manage to stop our thoughts as in meditation, we can feel the primordial vibration within. (after all it is everwhere!).
The world we see and experience (outside) is a manifestation of the Energy we don't see. By turning the senses within we can experience energy/God within. And I don't mean in some subjective way. It is possible to stop thoughts and feel a vibration behind your breathing. It is possible to close your eyes and see a Light so bright it hurts to look at it.

| Dkk I must say I love what you just wrote, and I agree, from experience. Once you feel that amazing Light which is within, you cannot go back and say "i don't believe", because you [ i]know[i] now, and it's more than just the knowledge of the mind, you know it with all of yourself... You know it as if you have always known...
And it's almost impossible to explain to people who rely completely only on their logic and brain and refuse to look beyond, because they refuse to admit there must be something beyond...

I know what you mean there.....And yet, Alex, we are taught that everything is Energy and that same energy cannot be destroyed nor created and that molocules vibrate and are everywhere.
Change the word "energy" to "god" and thats where the problem begins. As Einstien said, "religion without science is lame and science without religion is blind" | 0 @ 04-09-2004 18:25 Shauna_me | 2,753 posts
| dkk, i believe wut you said, but i dont agree with you... if it doesnt come from God who do u think it comes from? it comes from the devil, and in teh bible it says that the devil is beautiful.. hes not going to come as some ugly scary looking guy to temp you, often he is deceptive with who he is. In teh bible it also says if you are not for him [God] you are against him.... meaning if your not serving God, or dont believe in Him, you are serving the devil.. whether you're a good person or not... the devil comes in many different forms. | 0 @ 06-09-2004 15:22 cjaym88 | 158 posts
| the Bible actually said that the devil, who was then named Lucifer, is the most beautiful of all the angels. He was in charge of the worship music in heaven. He was thrown out and sentenced to eternity in hell when he tried to bring himself to God's level. about a third of heaven's angels joined him, and were therfore also thrown out. | 0 @ 07-09-2004 03:57 Shauna_me | 2,753 posts
| ya... he was beautiful... and demons are also cast out angels. | 0 @ 07-09-2004 04:25 AstralPhoenix | 779 posts
| yeah that's true- thus the experssion "the falling angel", i don't see what you are trying to say with that though ?
"Good" and "Evil" work together to create harmony and balance and to keep a steady pace of our Spiritual growth and progress.
It's all part of the bigger picture....

i am questioning the above....DDK...(sorry so late i have been rather busy w/ exams and all) You are in fact right about it not being the spoken or written, but this Primordial Vibration is the statement in question. The verse you reference is John 1:1, the Greek word for "word" is Logos...pronounced "Lo-Gohs" and it means "Living Word" and if you read the rest of the paragraph it shows us that the Living Word is the Christ..."and the word became flesh dwelt and among us"
The concept of the living word refers to God dwelling in his word...his Law, precepts and scripture...The christ to the early Christian author John, was a part of that living God and was a representation of his precepts and hence was the Word/Lo-Gohs=living word that became flesh was a physical being, the Christ. I usually do not wish to be forceful, but where did you get this other theory and what is it based on, no Greek words give way to such an unbiblical theory......
