My favourite book is "Chronicle of an Announced Death" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, it's really good and "The Orange Girl" by Jostein Gaarder. Really good books, but any book by either one of those authors is really something worth reading

Harry Potter (if I had to choose a favorite among them, I'd choose The Goblet of Fire, but I haven't read The Order of the Phoenix yet).

and

Lord of the Rings (Return of the King being my favorite among them).

Anything by Aidan Chambers, especially Postcards From No Man's Land (everyone should read this book, it's amazing)

and Nick Hornby - About A Boy. The film is nothing compared to the book (I love the film though). The film misses the essential point of the book. I mean, I know it isn't all comedy in the book, but I think everyone who thinks they love the film have to read the book.

Also George Orwell - 1984, by far my favourite 'classic' because it's still so relevant today.

the lovely bones - alice sebold

Not recommended for readers under 16 though, due to some inappropriate material about rape. A very moving story
