    Part of a song

    Why is it that whenever I'm singing a song I can only remember part of the song and not the whole song. It's like I can sing the chorus or maybe a verse but I can't sing the whole song. Does this kind of thing happen to everyone, I can't just be the only one

    Its why you remember advertising tunes-----slogans.... "I'm loving it" "Have it your way" "Two all beef patties....." (and now I'm hungry )

    Yes, many of us remember the chorus or a verse or two. You have to sing along with the lyrics with the song. That's why when we have favorite artists we know most of the words to their songs OR if you have a favorite song you probably know all/most of the lyrics.
