So I recently realized that there is a leaderboard for all the artists now and I got to thinking that instead of signing up to be a moderator for that artist, it should be based on the leaderboard and who has the most points. Give me your thoughts and maybe we can put this into action

I normally choose to moderate artist that I like because while listen to their song i can check the lyrics.

Why the choose of the moderator must be done with the leaderboard??

Sorry, I wasn't clear I don't know what you mean with leaderboard for all the artists. Can you please provide a link to this page?

To be more specific there is this thing called contributors and it will show you the leaderboard and the activity for any artist or album and maybe even for a song

I have a little bit problem understanding your suggestion:

signing up to be a moderator for that artist ... should be based on the leaderboard and who has the most points

I have no idea how to read that.

Can you please clearify this with an example of how you exactly would like to see it working?

So my suggestion is that we moderate artists based on who has the most points on the leaderboard for that artist and it will change over and over again based on the leaderboard. Under contributors it shows a leaderboard for that artist with a certain number of points and whoever has the most points for that artist should be the moderator.

I don't think there is a strong correlation between the amount of contributions to an artist and the willing to actually moderate an artists. Think for example about this:

1) A lot of contributors are no moderator, they are not interested in moderating an artist. They focus for example on new songs, song of a certain genre, or just digging through the artists to find artists without a profile picture to set one.

2) A lot of artists don't have much content (yet). So if you would do somthing minor like adding one song, you'll be on top of the leaderboard already.

3) Members that are on top could not be active on LSI anymore.

Too many things with could make your idea not work unfortunately. Though, I think I see your main point. You would like to "measure" in some way the dedication to an artists and let the member with the most dedication become moderator. Thats is not a bad idea at all, but measuring dedication is not that easy.

Whoever sent me messages with the name "content check of your modded artists" should tell me what has been changed in an artist map, because I just see the artist name and not what has been done. Really!

Mentioning what has been changed is not possible in this current system unfortunately.

Celine, just go to the artist maps that have been changed and check the recent activity at the bottom. There, you will see what has been changed most recently.

I like the system that we have now. I choose to moderate the artists that I feel I have not done a complete job on and it is my way of marking those I wish to revisit. Also it's another way of keeping in touch with those other members who have the same interests.

Where is the option to change the artist name? I thought super artist mods could still do it.

It's in the same spot as usually. You have to go to Contribute and then edit artist (do this when you're on the artist's page)

Scott : this doesn't appear. When I click "Contribute", it shows me
- sign up
- add/request song
- add/request album
- edit biography.

So I signed up as the mod for the artist, it worked, and clicked "Contribute" again. This time, it shows me
- content check
- add song
- add album
- edit biography
- add picture
- set profile picture

No "edit artist name" option available.
