This one goes out to this years football season and to the Green Bay Packers. See you in the Super Bowl!

The following is a paid broadcast from Stanley...

*insert commercial jingle*

Please, people, let's not forget what the great HappyLion said when he first opened this thread back in '02...

Tired of "favorite..."s and "hate..."s?
Tired of religious wars?
Tired of disputes over words like "gay"?
Feeling random...?

Or are you just one of those people who don't make any sense anyway...?

THEN DROP BY THE RANDOMNESS, THE PLACE WHERE YOU CAN JUST GET THAT WEIRDNESS OFF YOUR MIND!

-----------------------R U L E S-------------------------

1. Posts in this thread (with this one as a possible exception...) may make no sense whatsoever!

2. Try to read all existing posts before posting a new one...

3. DO NOT USE MORE THAN 3 SMILEYS PER POST!

4. BE ORIGINAL!

5. Have fun for Christ's sake!

6. (Don't) Spam!

Building my PC!!!!

So if the computer asks you "Dave..... I mean Jeff, would you like me to play a song for you?" "Daisy, Daisy..." RUN!

Ok kidding there (I hope) Good luck with the build Jeff---lucky you have the heat sink built in and don't have to buy it as aftermarket and add it on!

building a pc isnt hard, its the time setting it up that is killer
software is a pain to install, specially when you have 100 programs to install

The processor would have come with a heat sink, Jeff. They all do. But if you're building a beast of a computer like Gary did, the one it comes with won't be enough.

I had a feeling it would, I just didn't want to feel like I was lying when I said it didn't, because it did.

How big is his actual computer? I mean, mine is freaking huge, but if his is a beast, I could imagine his being a bit bigger than mine. :p

Size doesn't matter Jeff, it's how you use it.

To Sarahs point, if you do have a resource intensive build, a good heatsink is a worthy purchase over frying a processor. Whats wrong with the monitor?

Lol I knew that was gonna be interpreted sexually.

Half the monitor is all distorted. Let me get a picture.

It's a few years old, but he got the best available of everything that we could afford. I think the total price (without monitors, keyboard or mouse) was around $1500. He has a full tower case, and I believe your build said you got a mid tower. So it's slightly bigger than yours. It is really not about the size tho, although that's always a good joke, the components he used were the best he could get. Making for a beast of a machine that can still play most new release games on the highest settings.

Holy shit, that makes mine look like just a little baby haha. Mine was only $600! Not even half what Gary paid.

Mine was up there as well.. we spent around 2500 for both and built them together. I don't play as many games anymore, so mine is a glorified Googler now, really.. but it still plays high/ultra settings when I do feel like playing something.

Haha, nothing wrong with that!

Not sure why I'm getting a gaming PC because I don't really have time to play games due to work and college. I've just always wanted to build one. :p

Hmm, my Chromebook has been randomly crashing and restarting. It's happened a couple times in the past month or so. I did recently download an ad blocker (uBlock Origin), I wonder if that could be part of the problem.

That sounds like a pain in the ass. You're able to see your desktop, right? If so, see if you can open up your task manager and see what's jacking up the CPU.

What's going to happen regarding the apartment, Jen? Can you withdraw your offer?

Hope Bryan's pain goes away soon. Poor kid.

Solution Jeff, is to buy the fragile monitor locally... that way you can carry in home in a car with no breakage (after trying it out in store so no returns are needed).....monitor is separate element of your computer---who knows? You might get a sale, open box deal and save some money over the shipping costs---get it all back for broken monitor---they should pay for postage back to them.

Good thing my Mom isn't home, I'm currently using hers to setup this computer. Just about done.

Waiting for 28 minutes cost me a lot. Next time, I know what I'll do : enter, put the report on the desk and leave immediately so I would not be bothered to tell what happened 2 days ago.

And again, please : NO MAIL on Sundays! Don't want to receive anything in 3 hours.

All you poets have 28 minutes to get lost. Goodbye everybody.

Seriously Celine....here in the US I get Email 7 days a week, regular mail 6 days..... I'm swamped every day of my life---must be several thousand I have to wade through here a day (goes up and down can be just under a 1000 on a few days a month so I do catch up on those days with the overload)...

So tell me! What's your secret to turning off the MAIL on Sundays! (So I can reasonably catch up!)

Thanks for your advice!

I meant : no private messages in 2 hours. No super artist mod should deserve that one on Sunday. 24/7 does not exist anymore.

Leaving and certainly not back in 28 minutes.

Celine you could just ignore the messages. Besides, it's not Sunday in other locations yet. And then theres the international dateline and that adds a day or something so for some it'll be monday when it's your sunday.
