The following is a paid broadcast from Stanley...

*insert commercial jingle*

Please, people, let's not forget what the great HappyLion said when he first opened this thread back in '02...

Tired of "favorite..."s and "hate..."s?
Tired of religious wars?
Tired of disputes over words like "gay"?
Feeling random...?

Or are you just one of those people who don't make any sense anyway...?

THEN DROP BY THE RANDOMNESS, THE PLACE WHERE YOU CAN JUST GET THAT WEIRDNESS OFF YOUR MIND!

-----------------------R U L E S-------------------------

1. Posts in this thread (with this one as a possible exception...) may make no sense whatsoever!

2. Try to read all existing posts before posting a new one...

3. DO NOT USE MORE THAN 3 SMILEYS PER POST!

4. BE ORIGINAL!

5. Have fun for Christ's sake!

6. (Don't) Spam!

On the bright side, my paycheck was the highest it's ever been thanks to my new position. Money is sexy.

Livin' in the heartache
Was never something I pursued
I can't keep on chasing
What I can't be for you

Wait till after week 1 or 2, then you'll have a better idea of who to pick up. Plus all the injuries that happen in the early season.

It was national topless day, so I hope you ladies went out there and gave it your all.

Right, thanks Joe!

NOW you tell me----just about 2 hrs left to go of the day.....

Always find out these things reading the morning paper AFTER the day---like National Cheesecake Day (got that one early this year!).

Believe it or not Lisa, I wrote a similar question and walked away to think how to write it better before posting it....(checking back on old Jeff posts to see if he did say "why" too.... So thanks for asking the question and I'll add my own request for "why" also!

I don't have a very good reason as to why haha. I just wanted to see if I could get molten aluminum. Once I did, I decided to get some supplies to make some ingots. I guess maybe just for fun. :p

If I were you I'd get/make some different molds and make other things too.

I plan on doing that too. :p

I need to get another mold that won't melt when I pour my molten aluminum, haha.

Make your own molds. Go th lowes, buy a 5 gallon bucket, some bags of sand, and blue insulation foam sheets. Fill the bucket about halfway with sand, packed as tigh as you can. Cut whatever you want to cast out of the foam. Put it in the bucket on top of the sand pack sand tight around the foam, leaving 1 hole as small as you can but big enough to pour the aluminum. If you packed the sand tight enough around the foam, when you pour the metal in it will instantly melt the foam and fill the cavity in the sand. Start small until you figure out the best method to pack, leave a hole, and pour.

I have seen many videos of people doing that and it looks complicated. Fun but complicated.

Maybe I should go for metal works. I find it to be very interesting.

If packing sand around things is too complicated, you've got a hard life ahead of you...

Its called the "lost wax" method of casting---before ancient people had conveniences such as foam and buckets, they did that to make all the famous statues we associate from the very earliest Greece, Rome and other ancient civilizations, until about 1800s in Europe----they could do it---you mean modern day 21st century Jeff can't?

If you learn how to do this for jewelry you can make yourself a steady side income doing pieces and selling them (better than your metal detector hobby ---how much did that bring you?)
