*Introductory theme tune*

Keeping your brains active this summer.

Rules of the quiz:
- One answer per person (per round)
- Always give the answer you think the fewest amount of people would know
- If two people give the same answer in a short space of time, the first person's answer will be accepted (but the second can answer again)
- When applicable, a player may pick the same subject as another contestant and provide a different answer if they believe the other to be incorrect
- If you play the first round, please check back in case you make it through to Round #2
- Resist cheating (i.e. looking up answers; asking others)

And of course, respect your fellow contestants and have fun!

Round #1 will be posted shortly and will remain open until Monday (or, when applicable, until each answer is taken) to give everyone a chance of replying.

bit late on the reply to the sports teams results......

Looking at the results list, the top 3 are all Soccer teams. So at least I was headed in the right direction thinking Soccer was a sport that is doing financially well. (FIFA getting in trouble for having too much money and they are in the news so I went with that and picked Brazil)

Really? Won was pointless? I knew that one! I would have used it if Kaleb didn't get there first.

Lisa: Nope, not 92.

Yep! Another pointless answer. If we were playing for the money the two would've added £500/$785 to the jackpot. Alas, no monies for us.

Oh crap!! I'm so sorry, I don't know what happened (whether I didn't receive the notification or received it at the same time as others and didn't realise). I just realised, "Carl posted in Randomness, maybe he posted in the quiz as well", and then I checked and see he did three days ago.

At least Kaleb was away until today. I'll get the results up now and post the next one.

Kaleb went first and said UMA THURMAN as the actress in 'Kill Bill' (love those films). How many said her?

We'll see how good that score is (relative to the round) now. Carl's said MR. BROWN for the character the director played in 'Reservoir Dogs'. Does that beat thirty?

Let's fill in the rest.

THE 1960s were the decade in which Tarantino was born; it was the highest-scorer on 32 points.

PULP FICTION was the 1995 film he received an Oscar for. That scored twenty-five.

SIN CITY was the 2005 film on which he was a special guest director. It scored 4 points - low, but it means Carl gave us the lowest on the board, so props to him for that.

HEAD-TO-HEAD, PART 2

You have to win this one to stay in it, Kaleb. Your second question concerns...

BREEDS OF CAT

I'm going to show you five photos now of cats; you just need to tell me the most obscure breed up there.

We ran out of time, so I promised Carl we'd come back to this to do the "final" after the 39th quiz finished. So! Carl, here are your five categories to pick one from :

ALLITERATIVE ACTORS AND ACTRESSES
MODERN ARTISTS
POETRY
SONGWRITERS
WORD ENDINGS

All but MODERN ARTISTS have three sub-categories. What will it be?
CarlJ

CarlJ | 28-07-2015 17:40
I'll take ALLITERATIVE ACTORS AND ACTRESSES for a thousand Joeyy! Ooops...wrong game...lol but i will take this category...thanks

Joeyy | 28-07-2015 20:29
Cool. So I'm going to give you three sub-categories now and you're to give me three answers, but they can be from any of the three sub-categories - they could all be from one, or two from one and one from another, or one from each. To "win", all you need is a pointless answer. Good luck!

I'm looking for any feature film made for cinema release up to April 2014 starring any of the following...

AMY ADAMS

HOLLY HUNTER

NICK NOLTE

So, any feature film made for cinema release starring either of those three according to IMDb. As always, no TV films, short films, or documentaries, but voice performances do count.
