This one goes to Piggly Wiggly, which was my intended win, and Sinkhole de Mayo.

The following is a paid broadcast from Stanley...

*insert commercial jingle*

Please, people, let's not forget what the great HappyLion said when he first opened this thread back in '02...

Tired of "favorite..."s and "hate..."s?
Tired of religious wars?
Tired of disputes over words like "gay"?
Feeling random...?

Or are you just one of those people who don't make any sense anyway...?

THEN DROP BY THE RANDOMNESS, THE PLACE WHERE YOU CAN JUST GET THAT WEIRDNESS OFF YOUR MIND!

-----------------------R U L E S-------------------------

1. Posts in this thread (with this one as a possible exception...) may make no sense whatsoever!

2. Try to read all existing posts before posting a new one...

3. DO NOT USE MORE THAN 3 SMILEYS PER POST!

4. BE ORIGINAL!

5. Have fun for Christ's sake!

6. (Don't) Spam!

We had a dance team.. I think they still have it. It was started by a few girls I went to school with and they fought hard to get school funding for it. They had a fall team and a winter team.. don't think they did it in the spring.

It's been a ridiculous week at work, but I'm on vacation for the next 9 days. Much needed.

The wife of one of our regular customers died today. It was expected, but he's been a consistently worse mess for the last couple of weeks because of it. He was actually in today, before it happened, and it was heartbreaking. Cancer sucks.

Damn, what kind of cancer was it?

It wasn't a team, it was an actual mandatory (for three years, but I left before then) class, unfortunately. American and Brit talking about their high school and university differences. Surprised we haven't covered them all already.

That sucks. Must be upsetting for you to see him like that, too. Poor man.

Listening to that, your schools sound piss easy in comparison to ours (though I prefer our university system), but I'm sure there are differences between individual ones.

It had started with breast cancer, Jeff. This was the third time it'd come back and it had apparently spread everywhere. Nothing they could do for her this time.

Any big names on your team, Joe? Where the definition of "big" is "names I might know". :p

Any chance you could link me to that website we played Scrabble on, Joeyy? I can't remember the name.

It had to close down. I guess the original Scrabble company weren't happy with it.

I take comfort in the fact that it was just a hey what's up message.

I wish the a/c at my job ever worked properly. Nothing better than watching your server sweat profusely as they serve your food.

Did leg exercises on the living room floor before bed. Hoping the big spider we saw earlier didn't sneakily crawl up my jeans. I don't really mind our spiders, but no one wants that surprise. *Scratches legs*

I might forgive a sweaty server if they quoted Matilda

Her sweat and blood went into this cake, and you will not leave this platform until you have consumed the entire CONFECTION!"

I think I'd have to ask them to marry me but first join me for sweaty cake.

Yuck! Don't remind me of that film. It destroyed a part of mini-me.

It's so comforting to know that even our President used to bunk classes. FYI, he is kind of genius.

My high school (in America) had a dance team too. I almost tried out for it but I chickened out.

Sai, how did it destroy you?

Honestly speaking, I was a squeamish child. I didn't like the principal the most. Most of her scenes made me feel uncomfortable. And the cake scene made me very suspicious of every canteen food. Maybe it was my childish mind which exaggerated everything but I still hate this film. This film was definitely not made for me.

Haha. I've never experienced that reaction to Matilda before. Have you read the book?

We were going to stain a deck today but the humidity is so obnoxious, so we called it off.

Matilda was a shitty movie from start to finish.

For what reasons? It's an uplifting story about a neglected kid who finds escape through the wonders of books and the kind of love her crappy parents would never have given her. With some telekinesis thrown in, because fantasy. How can that be shitty to a kid?

And it taught us to spell "difficulty" with rhyme. I used it with Mil. I don't think she's seen the film yet, but she's read a few of his other books and they visited the Roald Dahl museum recently.
