| One thing I can tell you for sure - they're not lesbian! | 0 @ 06-01-2003 08:44 Dekar | 36,123 posts
| I'm pretty sure they're not either, but I think it could be one of those things. I've seen a few interviews by them and not once have they ever said anything about being lesbians. All they say is that they love eachother. Who's to say that they're not just best friends? I mean, friends make-out together, right friends? The other possibility is that it's all a publicity stunt, and personally I think they do it quite well. *swoon* | 0 @ 06-01-2003 11:07 Groovejet | 5,848 posts
| Of course it's a publicity stunt. And it seems to working..
The video of "All the things she said" seems funny to me because it's the same video as for the Russian version of this song ("Ja soshla suma"), which was popular LONG TIME ago. And they've cut out all the parts where they're lipsyncing the words in Russian there. So this English version video seems kind of clumsy to me. | 0 @ 06-01-2003 11:11 Dekar | 36,123 posts
| Yeah, I've seen and compared the two versions before. The english one does look very choopy and cut up.
I saw the 30 minutes video recently and noticed that it was...how you say...somewhat explicitly sexual, but with one beautiful scene of violence! I like that video a lot better. Who wouldn't? | 0 @ 06-01-2003 12:03 Masterful_Ally | 15,627 posts

| I'm not actually sure about it, but there's nothing wrong with a bit of wishful thinking, is there? *puckers up* | 0 @ 06-01-2003 12:24 Groovejet | 5,848 posts
| Some friends do! Why not?
When I was little, I remember even kissing with my sister! But I was very little... | 0 @ 06-01-2003 12:26 Masterful_Ally | 15,627 posts

| is TATU short for something? if it is im just stupid and you can ignore me now... | 0 @ 07-01-2003 15:52 Groovejet | 5,848 posts
| No, I don't think it's short for something, but I'm not their fan and I've never really cared, so I'm not sure!
Geez, what a pointless post! | 0 @ 07-01-2003 16:32 Dekar | 36,123 posts
| I'm not sure actually. I haven't read anything about it meaning anything, but I do know that the official band's name is t.A.T.u. | 0 @ 07-01-2003 22:18 Bluestrattos | 671 posts
| I'm not a fan, but i like some of the tracks of their last album, so here a small explanation that i took from a "foreign forum "
" 'Taty' was the name the were under when they first formed and became public in Russia. 'Taty' is supposedly a wordplay on the phrase 'Ta Lyubit Tu' - roughly translating to 'She Loves Her'. 'Taty' is pronounced in english 'Tatu' (tatoo). Also, there is another possibility of the meaning of 'Taty'. Some say that in Russian, 'Taty' is short for the russian word for 'tattoo' which is 'tatyirovka'.
Then, with the signing of contracts with Universal Music Russia and Interscope Records for their english-crossover, the gals learned that there already exists a band with their same name. So...you can't have two groups with the same name. Thus, the gals had to change their group name to the current 't.A.T.u.'. No one knows if this new name is an abbreviation for something.
For now, most fans still prefer to call them 'Taty' or 'Tatu', but in fact, the gals themselves have pronounced their new name by spelling it out, letter for letter - 'T - A - T - U'.
tatu stand for 'Ta lubit eTu' which means 'this one loves that one' so in relation to tatu, it takes on the meaning of 'this girl loves that girl' "

| How do you like the "Not gonna get us"??? | 0 @ 02-03-2003 17:49 Avrilla | 37 posts
| I hate "not gonna get us"
the first time i heard it, i tought they said something spanish instead of "not gonna get us" i didn't understand much of that. then i heard what it was. and about the friends making out thing, i do that with my best friend, but we are NOT lesbian because of that. we are just practising. i think it is normal for girls to do that, (if they are wery close). but you don't tell other people that you do that, so most people maybe don't think it's normal. but i'm sure many of my friends have kissed their best friend sometime.
(i don't mean that we do this often, we have only tried making out once!) | 0 @ 02-03-2003 19:30 TheNamelessPunk | 182 posts
