...i wasn't expecting to pass with radar.

Ha, yeah, it was a weird round. So four our first Head-to-Head question, Sierra has gone for SEAN PENN as the name of Madonna's first hubby. Let's see if that's right and how far down the column it takes us if so.

Bruna has said DICK TRACY as the (almost said dog) film in which she plays 'BREATHLESS MAHONEY'. Will that beat thirty-nine?

The best answer was the 2003 CHILDREN'S BOOK SHE WROTE, which is called THE ENGLISH ROSES. It scored 4 points. We haven't read it.
HER FIRST UK No.1 (1985) was INTO THE GROOVE and scored only a couple more - 6 points.
And the JAMES BOND FILM THEME SHE SANG was DIE ANOTHER DAY. That scored 18 points.

HEAD-TO-HEAD, PART 2
Okie doke. Sierra, you have to win this one to stay in the game. B, you're up first this time. In honour of Earth Day (not really, I was already getting the images when I saw the Google Doodle - happy coincidence), your second question concerns...
PLANETS
I'm going to show you five images of planets now, can you correctly identify the most obscure of these? Good luck to you both.

Assuming neither of our contestants gives an answer for it, but after they've answered, I'll send a prize to anyone (the first person) who correctly guesses how many of the 100 identified E.

* offtopic :
I hope I don't mess up what Joey has offered here---but offtopic comment about this comes to mind that many comedians (and polls ) here in the US are very humorous (or serious!) in showing off famous photos of people or objects that everyone should know and finding out how many people don't know them--- Jay Leno comes to mind as a perfect example of asking people on the street he meets to identify these things while we of the home audience have a good laugh. I seem to remember him walking around with the Declaration of Independence asking A. if anyone recognized it , and B. would they sign it today! Big LOL! So its not at all surprising when you asked about "E" Joey--- I'll submit a guess in a bit---but I just had to make this comment first!

No time to put it off and think about it... I felt like "E" is 18 or 19... but I'll go with 20 out of the 100 as I believe in people's intelligence.
Joeyy | 22-04-2015 01:35
After the contestants have submitted their answers, Practice. But it's OK. Although I don't know why you submitted a guess when I'm sure you won't let me send you anything, given how private you are.
PracticePractic | 22-04-2015 02:24
I knew that. I'm going to be off line maybe for a while, so didn't want to miss being the "first" to submit my correct guess... didn't think I'd have a chance of winning anyway, so your question was moot. Can always use a DLB in a pinch.
Joeyy | 22-04-2015 04:10
If you knew that then you shouldn't have ignored me. :S I said "after" for a reason - the reason being that other people commenting on the obscurity of individual answers before contestants have guessed can influence the contestants' guesses.
Tip for the future: It's forum etiquette not to deliberately ignore a game's host.

Sorry, thanks for the tip, and apologies to the Great and Wonderful Hostess of Pointless LSI Editions!
I assumed by your early revealing "something" was up about "E" it was ok to talk about it.... you already let the cat out of the bag so to speak [usually you did wait until all posted before adding some additional results/information about a particular item, I assumed it was ok since you were changing your procedure for this one---its obvious why, so I would not worry about influencing the guesses ]

d - mercury
PinkFloyd | 22-04-2015 16:47
B - Uranus

I would hope that more people know E than those who don't... but hmm.. sometimes people are dumb.
54?
54?
PinkFloyd | 22-04-2015 17:07
If it's under 90 I will weep.
Joeyy | 22-04-2015 17:17
I understand your point about me commenting on it, but I don't think it's a secret that one would assume E would be higher than the other planets - but say Bruna or Sierra didn't know any of the others. Their choice would be to make a complete guess - or perhaps an educated guess based on what they remember from school or somewhere else, but a guess nonetheless - in the hope that the guess might be right and lower than their opponent's, or to give E as their answer. Your saying you think that only 20 of the 100 identified E might make them think that, actually, fewer people might've known it than they originally thought, and this could influence them to go for it instead of taking a chance on something else.
I'm not sure if that makes sense, but either way, it's just polite not to deliberately ignore a "rule". Edit: But you're welcome to query something if you don't understand or agree with it. Better to ask.

If the site would let me 'like' Sierra's comment, I would.
Yeah...54's one thing, but thinking only 20 out of 100 people know what our home planet looks like? Have a little faith in your fellow humans, Practice!

Anyway, Bruna's gone for MERCURY as the planet in D. Looks similar to the moon. Let's find out what it scores.

I just know that out of 100 people, there's bound to wither be one moron or one jackass that would ruin it.
Joeyy | 22-04-2015 18:06
Haha. Tell you at the end of the quiz in case anyone else wants to throw in a guess. For now, let's see if URANUS (hehe) can beat Mercury. It has to score fewer than seven - does it?

Atta girl! That's right, girl! Get it, girl! Sorry, girl.
Rules of the quiz:
- One answer per person (per round)
- Always give the answer you think the fewest amount of people would know
- If two people give the same answer in a short space of time, the first person's answer will be accepted (but the second can answer again)
- When applicable, a player may pick the same subject as another contestant and provide a different answer if they believe the other to be incorrect
- If you play the first round, please check back in case you make it through to Round #2
- Resist cheating (i.e. looking up answers; asking others)
And of course, respect your fellow contestants and have fun!
Round #1 will be posted shortly and will remain open until Monday (or, when applicable, until each answer is taken) to give everyone a chance of replying.
