*Introductory theme tune*

Kwazy with a w. A backwards w.

Rules of the quiz:
- One answer per person (per round)
- Always give the answer you think the fewest amount of people would know
- If two people give the same answer in a short space of time, the first person's answer will be accepted (but the second can answer again)
- When applicable, a player may pick the same subject as another contestant and provide a different answer if they believe the other to be incorrect
- If you play the first round, please check back in case you make it through to Round #2
- Resist cheating (i.e. looking up answers; asking others)

And of course, respect your fellow contestants and have fun!

Round #1 will be posted shortly and will remain open until Monday (or, when applicable, until each answer is taken) to give everyone a chance of replying.

* offtopic :
The records of previous winners and pointless answers can be found here.

ROUND #2 RESULTS

We have a tie! The two of you definitely leaving us are...

Sarah: 38 (JACKSON POLLOCK)
Kaleb: 17 (EDVARD MUNCH)

Joe: 13 (THOMAS GAINSBOROUGH)
Bruna: 13 (RENE MAGRITE)

Anthony: 2 (ALFRED SISLEY)

I'm sure you won't be forgetting Thomas again, Sarah. Thanks to you and Kaleb for playing, and congrats to Ant on making it through to his first Head-to-Head!

...

Ooo, haha. Tie results:

Bruna: 20 (PAUL CEZANNE)
Joe: 6 (EDGAR DEGAS)

That's pretty rough, B. But well done, Joe, you join Ant in the Head-to-Head.

Man! forget Thomas. I passed over Frida Kahlo because THAT was obvious to me. *sigh*

That sucks. The only one that would've beaten Edgar Degas in the tie-breaker was LAURE PROUVOST for 1 point.

Which others haven't we had? Feeling lazy. I think...

GORMLEY – ANTONY 16
(1950 – )

MONET – CLAUDE 49
(1840-1926)

CONSTABLE – JOHN 52
(1776-1837)

How did Mr. Monet not score more points? Who knows? Sometimes I think most of the 100 have got their heads in the clouds.

HEAD-TO-HEAD, PART 1

Congrats again, Ant and Joe. You'll now face each other in this first to three round; whoever wins takes this quiz's title. Your first question concerns...

THE NUMBER 50

I'm simply going to show you five clues now to facts involving the number fifty, can you give me the most obscure answer? Best of luck.

AUTHOR OF THE 'FIFTY SHADES' TRILOGY OF NOVELS

NUMBER THAT IS EQUAL TO 50 SQUARED

THE CHEMICAL ELEMENT OF WHICH IT IS THE ATOMIC NUMBER

REAL FIRST NAME OF AMERICAN RAPPER 50 CENT

THE LETTER USED TO REPRESENT IT IN ROMAN NUMERALS

And Ant, either of you can go first this time.

In the show, the pair (because contestants are in pairs) that played better in the first and second rounds go first in the Head-to-Head, but we obviously don't have pairs/do that.

OK, in the order they were given, Ant has said L for the ROMAN NUMERAL representing the number fifty. How far down the column does that take us?

It's actually the second best answer on the board. The only one that would've beaten that was TIN for THE CHEMICAL ELEMENT OF WHICH IT IS THE ATOMIC NUMBER.

AUTHOR OF THE 'FIFTY SHADES' trilogy was a good one: 20 for E. L. JAMES

The highest scorer was THE NUMBER THAT IS EQUAL TO FIDDY SQUARED, which is 2500 and scored 38 points.

HEAD-TO-HEAD, PART 2

Gotta win this one to stay in it, Ant. The next question concerns...

ACTORS AND ACTRESSES IN BANDS

I'm going to show you five images now of actors (/actresses) in bands. As always, you just need to name the one you think the fewest amount of people would know. Good luck.

sweating a bit after I saw Joe's score, but i figured everyone knows johnny Depp, and you guys across the pond would know Hugh Laurie, was hoping Zooey's indy rock stylings would be just unfamous enough

Haha, yep, she's not really made the same impression over here. I know one of the big channels for American TV (the one I watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine on) shows 'New Girl', though, so give it a year or two and she might score a few higher.

There's an answer that scores fewer points than either - ELIZABETH MCGOVERN is the woman in A. I don't reconise her or her name as someone I've seen in anything, but apparently she's in 'Downton Abbey', so you'd think more British people might know her.

JOHNNY DEPP (D) scored quite a bit higher than HUGH LAURIE (C)... 66 for the former; 44 for the latter.

HEAD-TO-HEAD, DECIDER

Here comes your third and final question (assuming at least one of you gets a right answer ). It concerns...

DOWN ON THE FARM

I'm going to show you five terms now associated with farming, but, lucky you, I've put them in anagram form. Can you unscramble them and give me the most obscure? Good luck!

LAB YEAH
RAW SOCCER
HOB MINCE TRAVERSE
GYP SIT
NATAL OTTER POP

I think for the past few quizzes people have been taking the deciding question in any order, but for the majority of quizzes the person who went first in the first Head-to-Head question goes first on the last. We should probably stick to that unless you folks want it to change permanently.

So, Ant, you're up.

The scarecrow walks at midnight

Anyone remember the Goosebumps book/episode? I had the PC game ('Escape From Horrorland' - loved it) and I remember the whole section of it, with the pumpkins and their different sayings (guy not part of the game).

Anyway, Ant's said SCARECROW, what does that score?
