13,570 posts	Am I seeing it correctly but did you say One from Metallica. Thats one of the hardest metallica songs to play, the solo is so hard.

22,036 posts	as is the main solo is i believe in a thing called love...from a beginner's perspective also scar tissue as an amazing yet hard to play accurate slide guitar solo that i wouldnt recommend to a beginner player fyi...shortest straw > one as far as guitar solo difficulty goes

1 posts	first songs i learnt were 'time of your life-greenday' guns n roses-knocking on heavens door' 'the monkees-daydream believer' uhh.. nirvana-come as you are, smells like teen spirit, penny royal tea, polly, about a girl. also, eric clapton-layla and of course..smoke on the water.. i use chordie.com for tabs alot.

4 posts	Well, I'm going to sound like a complete idiot. Even though people have explained how to read the tabs, I really just don't understand. What strick are you supposed to pick?? I know I probably sound like an imbecile, i just really don't understand it would someone be able to help me and explain it a bit argh.. Thanks.

14,843 posts	Yes. The fret (the number you see on tabs) is the one you pick. If you see an '0' on the tab, it means it's an open string, so you pick that string without holding down any frets...
