So my song help thread is long dead at this point and I don't want to bump it. However, I do want to reboot the thread in a new sort of way.

I've mentioned in my previous thread before that when transcribing songs, I came to the realization that if I post my transcription with missing parts, then those missing parts will also sound indecipherable to another listener's ears. However, if I just let them transcribe the whole song themselves, they may hear it perfectly clear. So that is what I'm going to do this time around and see if this works out; I'll be posting links to songs that anyone here can feel free to give a shot at transcribing.

When I began my old thread, several different users were helping me transcribe songs, but by the end of its course, it all came down to solely Joeyy helping me and no one else. I want to see if that can change this time. Of course I can't control whether that can change or not, but I noticed tequizasunrise and kalsonberry were very instrumental in helping myself and others transcribe lyrics before, so hopefully I can recruit them to assist in my endeavors once again. If this thread fails once more, I'll probably try bringing it to another music forum and see how that fares.

Anyways, without further ado, I'll start with these five songs:

Milquetoast & Co. - "Love and Tonic"
Jigsaw - "I've Seen the Film, I've Read the Book"
Strawberry Alarm Clock - "Sea Shell"
Jo Jo Gunne - "I Wanna Love You"
Acid Witch - "Intro" (This track's "lyrics" are spoken-word, and there is literally one word I am unsure about)

And please don't feel unaccomplished if you can't make out every single word, any assistance helps me a lot. Thanks!

Update - the vinyl just came in this week It took a little longer than expected because they had shipped me the wrong vinyl at first, and I had to contact them to send me the correct one. It was actually brand new and still sealed, so the lyrics sheet is in great condition. I created the song today and it looks perfect. Still, half of the album doesn't have lyrics online yet (four did prior to this) so I'll have to work on those when I get time.

Alright, this time around I have two songs I need help with:

Eddie Money - "Love the Way You Love Me" - Lyrics to this exist online, but none of them have the very first line transcribed and all of them mark it as "incomprehensible". That's all I need help with on this one.

Henry Gross - "One More Tomorrow" - Strangely enough, the sites that have lyrics to this song only have two lines and nothing else, and I don't even think they're part of the song. Help on the whole song would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

For "love the way you love me" I hear:
"Do your dreams with them shouting at you?"

It doesn't make much sense so I don't know if that's helpful.

Well, I know with certainty "dreams" is in that line, because in the music video he does a sleeping gesture with his hands as he sings it. But he rattles off the line so fast that it's hard to really understand it.

I think it might be "Do your dreams with them shout it at you?", referring to someone else a girl is dreaming about maybe? I'm not sure.

Spotted this on the way to another thread. Sorry, Nicolas, I can only hear your suggested line. It sounds more like "yous", plural, but other than that I have no suggestions. As for the other song, I'm probably stuck on/unsure of the same lines as you. This is what I can hear:

Baby said, "...
Always one more tomorrow
Baby said, "I just can't work another day
You'll never get away again"

Calling every night
Trying to keep it tight
...can't go on forever
Flying to my town
Before I touch the ground
I'm heading on my way again

And there ain't no doubt about it
It's hard every step of the way
But there ain't no ---------------- without it
'Cause when you find what you need
One more tomorrow
Ain't gonna take that away

Only got time to sing you one line
You're hitching on down to Memphis
Cruising into town
...getting down
'Til I gotta leave home again
(????)

And there ain't no doubt about it
It's hard every step of the way
But there ain't no ---------------- without it
'Cause when you find what you need
One more tomorrow
Ain't gonna take that away

Baby said, "...
Always one more tomorrow
Baby said, "I just can't work another day
You'll never get away again"
My baby said, "I just can't work another day
You'll never get away, never get away, never get away again"

Originally I thought it was, "I'll never get away...", but he says, "You'll" later on, so he probably sings it earlier also.

It almost sounds like, "But there ain't no love without it", but I'm not sure, sorry.

And the, "Baby said..." line sounds like it's something about not being able to take another something or other...possibly "show", but I don't know. Baby said, "No, can't take another show", maybe? Since she's talking about work - maybe she's a performer.

Thank you for finally getting to this, I appreciate it Using your transcription as a framework, I think I may have figured it out. Truth be told, I forget exactly what I had troubles with - I didn't actually take down a transcription this time, I only took a listen to the song and couldn't decipher everything I heard, so I took it here. I do remember, however, that I had the "No, can't take another show" in mind when I listened to it, and it sounds like that to me as well. The rest might actually be easier than we had thought. Here's what I got (differences in bold).

Baby said, "No, can't take another show
Always one more tomorrow"
Baby said, "I just can't wait another day
You'll never get away again"

Calling every night
Trying to keep it tight
Love, it can't go on forever
Flying to my town
Before I touch the ground
I'm heading on my way again

And there ain't no doubt about it
It's hard every step of the way
But there ain't no love without it
'Cause when you find what you need
One more tomorrow
Ain't gonna take it away

Only got time to sing you one line
You're hitching on down to Memphis
Cruising into town
Love, we're getting down
'Til I gotta leave home again

And there ain't no doubt about it
It's hard every step of the way
But there ain't no love without it
'Cause when you find what you need
One more tomorrow
Ain't gonna take it away

Baby said, "No, can't take another show
Always one more tomorrow"
Baby said, "I just can't wait another day
You'll never get away again"
My baby said, "I just can't wait another day
You'll never get away, never get away, never get away again"

---
The way I interpreted it was that the lead singer keeps doing gigs, so she "can't take another show" and "can't wait another day" for him. I think I might submit these, actually, I'm pretty confident in them now. But still, feel free to provide input.

I listened with my audio technica headphones. I still hear this for the first one:

Do your dreams with them shouting at you?

This is what I heard for the second one.

Baby said, "No, can't take another show
Always one more tomorrow."
Baby said, "I just can't work another day
You'll never get away again"
Oooh

Calling every night
Trying to keep it tight
Rhoda can't go on forever
Flying to my town
Before I touch the ground
I'm heading on my way again

And there ain't no doubt about it
It's hard every step of the way
But there ain't no love withhout it (Ain't no love without it)
'Cause when you find what you need (Ah)
One more tomorrow (Ah)
Ain't gonna take that away (Ah)
Oooh

Only got time to sing you one line
You're hitching on down to Memphis
Cruising into town
Love we're getting down
'Til I gotta leave our home again

And there ain't no doubt about it
It's hard every step of the way
But there ain't no love without it (Ain't no love without it)
'Cause when you find what you need (Ah)
One more tomorrow (Ah)
Ain't gonna take that away (Ah)
Oooh

Baby said, "No, can't take another show
Always one more tomorrow"
Baby said, "I just can't work another day (Ah)
You'll never get away again"
My baby said, "I just can't work another day (Ah)
You'll never get away, never get away, never get away again"
Oooh
Hey! Hey!

Thank you both for the help. I just submitted both of these songs.

I think I'll try to finish up transcribing the rest of this Eddie Money album. There's three songs on it that have no lyrics online whatsoever, so I'll work on transcribing those from scratch when I get a chance. If I need help, I'll come back here.

I just tried my hand at these three tonight. I was able to successfully transcribe one of them ("Nobody"), but the other two I'll definitely need help with. They're pretty difficult, though, due to his singing style, so be warned.

Eddie Money - "Nightmare"
Eddie Money - "Rock & Roll the Place"

Fun fact - I have a signed guitar of his I won at an auction. Pretty cool, huh?

Really? That's awesome. How long ago was that? Was it on eBay?

Truthfully, I'm not a huge fan of him, he's just an artist I've known about for a long time. I did major work on his LSI page last summer but never really tried transcribing the songs of his that don't have lyrics online.

I'm more of a casual fan. I've bought a signed guitar before and it was more than the Eddie Money one. I just did it to see if I would win and I did! It was on a site that's similar to eBay, but they auction stuff off that celebrities give to them. The money goes to charity that the star chooses. It's pretty cool!

Bump.

I have another one to add to my transcription list alongside the other two (hopefully someone can help me with those soon)

High Inergy - "Groove Patrol"

I've been working on this band recently, and this song's lyrics on LSI seem to be wrong in a lot of places. I think mz_soulfyre_757 (their moderator) transcribed the majority of their lyrics since they're mainly only found here, but there's a lot of errors and lines that don't make sense in the lyrics she had for this one. Perhaps Scott or Joey could help tweak these lyrics a bit.

High Inergy - "Groove Patrol" are nearly correct. Was there something that you thought were incorrectly? I can go ahead and transcribe some of the additional lyrics. We should definitely consult mz_soulfre_757 if she transcribed all the lyrics. It's her baby and I would hate to go edit it and then the forumer wonders why.

I'd say (on first listen) maybe around a handful of the words are wrong. If you know them, submit the corrections?

Here's what I heard for High Inergy - "Groove Patrol"

(Gary Goetzman/Mike Piccirillo) [-> should be moved to "about" section of song.]

All you victims of the nine-to-five, well, come on
Just pull the plug on your boss' line, the day is done
Now do like we do
Do what we say
Or we may have to bust you for all work and no play
You see, we're on the move
Order to protect the groove
Now don't be foolin' with the..

Groove patrol
No other comes to pop you
Like the groove patrol, whoa oh
(Oh, woo, oh, woo, oh)
Groove patrol
We're locking up the pockets
We're the groove patrol, whoa-ohh
(Oh, woo, oh, woo, oh)

We're running a make to see what we got on you, if abide
It's strange as it seems
You said you ain't got loose in a while
[Spoken:] (Now that's a shame)
You look so uptight, we'll give you a test
And if you come out negative, you're under arrest
It's time to party down
Or take a trip downtown
[Spoken:] Now what's it gonna be, Jack?

Groove patrol
No other comes to pop you
Like the groove patrol, whoa oh
(Oh, woo, oh, woo, oh)
Groove patrol
We're locking up the pockets
We're the groove patrol, whoa-ohh
(Oh, woo, oh, woo, oh)

[Verse spoken:]
Pull over.
Now honey, don't you know it's a crime
if you ain't moving in time?
What's wrong with you?
Now turn around and spead it.
Let me frisk you rapidly.
Woo... you got a license to carry that thing?
Huh! Now wait a minute.
The other girls may known you by that, honey, but I don't.
I need some POSITIVE identification.
Say what? You left it at home?
Well let's go get it, baby.

(Oh, woo, oh, woo, oh)
Get on the bus
and get everybody moving the beat
Soon all the uptight, tight-ass
straight from another whole nother street
Ha, ha, ha! Whoo!
Now don't hurt nobody, don't hurt yourself
Just have a good time, forgetting everything else
And let the whole town go
We're on a groove patrol

Now don't go messin' with us
Now don't go messin' with us
Groove patrol
No other comes to pop you
Like the groove patrol, whoa oh
(Oh, woo, oh, woo, oh)
Groove patrol
We're locking up the pockets
We're the groove patrol, whoa-ohh
(Oh, woo, oh, woo, oh)

Groove patrol
Groove patrol, whoa oh
(Oh, woo, oh, woo, oh)

Well, when I listened to it, a lot of what was written simply didn't sound right and/or didn't make sense. For example, "no other comes to poppin'" and "We're running a make to see what we got on you, if abide". I notice you changed the former to "pop you" but left the latter alone.

I'll check your transcription in its entirety tomorrow. I have an exam tomorrow and just finished studying, but I thought I'd chime in really quick before I go to bed. Until then, you can perhaps work on the other two songs I posted.

* offtopic :
Oh, and for the record, Yanikee (mz_soulfyre) seems to be okay with you adding corrections to her transcriptions. I went through basically every other High Inergy song and made corrections (removed the writing credits at the top, wrote out all the choruses, fixed typos, capitalized all lines, etc.) and she accepted them all.

I just looked over the whole transcription today. I still am unsure about the two lines I mentioned yesterday, as well as "soon all the uptight, tight-ass, straight from another whole nother street". Also, in the spoken verse, shouldn't "spead" be "spread"? And I'm having trouble hearing "Let me frisk you rapidly" there. It kind of sounds like it, but it sounds like it should be something else (it's said really fast, whatever that line is, so that might be the issue). Other than that, it looks about right. Any ideas, Scott?

I made some small changes. I hear the "soon all the uptight...", and the "let me frisk..." line. "if abide" I am not sure if that's what said, but the other part I hear "we're running a make to see what we got on you..."

I still don't think those lines make sense and they don't sound right. Thanks for helping, at least - I know it's a toughie. We can keep the lyrics as they are for the time being, unless Joey pitches in and hears anything different.

Good luck on your "Nightmare" transcription, as well.
