try and guess how many times the content of the email matches the urgency portrayed by the warning on the subject.

so they're bringing shark tank (dragon's den for the brits) to portugal and the wife is working on the screening process. basically she has to evaluate a shit ton of proposals for their viability, sustainability, check if they're worth what they're asking, etc.

i can't wait to see some of them this weekend, i'm sure the ratio between crazy lunatics vs. legit businesses will be fun.

It also sounds like a lot more than what's done here considering how many are told on the show that their proposal isn't worth anywhere near how much they're asking.

so her uni partnered up with the tv program as a knowledge consultant, and then they hired 20 masters students to weed out the applications on a first stage, so that's what she's doing. mostly from home i think, since it's all online, so i get to nose around a bit.

right now she's looking at the project's feasibility (oh, and all projects come with a pitch video, so that'll be potentially hilarious). then after they've weeded out the clear no's, she'll have to call the potential ones and renegotiate what they're asking. people tend to overestimate a lot their stuff, so i guess they're doing that to avoid exactly what you mentioned that happens over there.

those who agree will move onto the physical interviews with the phds and professors, but that'll be phase 2 so sadly her work will be done by then. but she gets to watch them. i told her she should root for the ones she picked

and no apprentice here. maybe that'll be next.
