I heard a very catchy tune in a pub the other day, unfortunately all I caught was the the very tail, bitter end of the song. I'm guessing that it's an alternative rock song or something since that's what most of the other songs I heard then were.

It appears to be a very slow, sad, and melancholy tune and the only words I could catch was "Take you away" at the end. I don't think it was a major hit (no, it's not black hole sun or anything that famous). The singer sounds a little bit like a subdued Perry Farrell, or the Pixies.

I've tried for days to search the song by that lyric on Google, but I've had absolutely no luck.

PS There may be a higher than normal chance it's a Canadian band

I know that isn't a lot of details, but its all I have.

Do you think the very last words were "Take you away" or was that a random snippet near the end?

I think they were, I'm not 100% sure though. If not, they would have been the second last line. I don't know if that was the chorus or not too.

Well, "Blurry" by Puddle of Mudd comes to mind because of the "can you take it all away?" lyric in the chorus. Was it more of a 90s alternative rock sound or more recent or older?

No, it's not Blurry by Puddle of Mudd. It sounded nothing like it.

I'm guessing it was from the 90s, but I don't know for sure.

It was more of a grunge/alternative song.

Probably not it but worth a mention, Breaking Benjamin - Away. I would consider it alternative rock but certainly not slow. But it came to mind.
