Hey guys, a small note on the traybar update. From now on LSI works with a new notification system. Alerts that we first sent through the messenger system (comment alerts, chat requests, birthday alerts, etc) will now reach you as "notification" (see new icon in the traybar on the upper right of your screen).

3 reasons for adding this new system :
- notifications direct you with a single click to the page where the action is
- notifications won't pollute your inbox
- notifications open the door for new functionalities (stay tuned)

I need a couple of days more to fully integrate this system. In the meantime, comments are welcome as usual

Ray

PS, the envelop icon in the upper right kind of loses its importance, so evantually I want to remove that from the tray.

Great work as usual Ray. We were all so confused as to why they were all white for us.

Great new feature. I'm excited for another LSI update!

What version are we in?

How would its removal work? Currently the notifications appears to be a pop-up box, it seems like it would be rather inconvenient to have to scroll down a tiny box to read longer messages we receive. I also don't understand how it would enable us to message back and forth.

I also don't know what people mean by all white. Mine were always white.

I'm not sure how to put it. But they were different and we all noticed them.

They were dim before, and when you actually had a notification they would flash white. You're just blind.

You say "we all", but evidently it wasn't the same for everyone, because there's no extra whiteness to mine. The chat bubble has disappeared for me (has chat gone for good now?) and there's no number next to my messages envelope. Nothing else has changed.

Ohh...I keep unread messages in my inbox at all times, so it wasn't a case of me not seeing, but not having the dimness.

Now onto my original query: The envelope is disappearing? Does that mean our inboxes are?

I doubt it because there still is a messages section.

Instead of the envelope flashing to say you've got a new message, you now get a notification instead which says the title of the message to click to see it in your inbox.
The message system is still the same. And the chatroom is still there, the link is now under the member's tab.

If he gets rid of the messaging inbox how will I send all those Michael Fassbender nudes to Sarah?

Seems weird to me (even Facebook has both ), but as long as the inbox is still there, all right.

Aw, I'm gonna miss the little envelope. *Has random separation anxiety*

So it means that I won't have to remove the "new profile reaction" and "friends birthday notifications" from my inbox. Last year, I took some time to remove them, ha-ha.

Doesn't work for the "add friend" (letssingit together) function yet?

I... I just hope we won't receive any for "[member] posted a comment to the [song] you posted", in case I post songs submitted with my nickname in it. That would be frightening to receive so many notifications for each song I have posted for 10 years.

For songs we submit? I hope not.

Well, I don't know how this new system works.

I got a notification for "friends birthday", I opened the link - but wanted to remove this message. Does remove the notification equals no birthday notifications anymore?

If the flashing envelope is removed, how can I access my inbox now? Do I have to click, in the bar (under search box), "myletssingit" + "members" + "messages" like I sometimes did?

Don't think so.

Um, that notification appeared, I clicked on "remove the notification" but the message hasn't gone from my inbox... Oh well... So I keep waiting for the next update.

That's what will happen according to James, Celine. (Sounds like he was in on this, let's blame him. )
