This is a bit of a shot in the dark, but I remember a song that came out sometime between 2008-2010 that really meant a lot to me at the time. Unfortunately I can't remember much about it now. Here is what I remember:

Released sometime in the years 2008-2010
R&B / Hip Hop / Rap
Not super popular (not Justin Timberlake, Usher, etc.)
About breaking up, but not sad. More like you deserve better / moving on / it's not going to work out
Sung by a guy / guys (no girls)

I wish I could remember more. Ive tried searching on google but haven't found it yet. If anyone has any ideas I would love to hear them!

Do you remember what the beat was like? Were the guys singing or rapping? Is there anything it might have sounded similar to?

I don't remember much, but I remember it was pretty laid back. Maybe a similar tone to Omarion - Ice Box.
