So, I don't know how many of you here are gamers, or simply just enjoy a leisurely game or two every once and a while, but this is a game I, and I'm sure a lot of users here, will enjoy.

Basically, Audiosurf is a music/rhythm game for the PC. But it's not like Rock Band, Guitar Hero, or similar rhythm games that don't give you control and freedom over the song choices. In Audiosurf, you can play any - that's right, any - MP3 that you own. Because of this, it has practically infinite replay value, and you can play songs according to your tastes and preferences.

What's neat about this game, though, is that each song generates a unique ride (here's a picture) and the intensity of the song syncs with how fast, slow, or bumpy the track will be. You literally "surf" to your own music. And not only this, but each MP3 has leaderboards, so you can compete with other players on songs, which is a really fun pastime to do (albeit frustrating at times - but that's competition for ya!).

I've had this game for 3 years now, but I just now got addicted to it again a few months ago and have almost 150 hours on it currently. Here's my profile if anyone's interested, and here's the Steam store page for the game. It's only 10 bucks if anyone is willing to check this out, but I'm not forcing anyone here to do that - I just wanted to inform people of this amazing game

Oh, you're one of those people. Why not just buy it legally? Are you so broke that you don't have ten bucks?

No, I'm so rich that I'm not paying to buy a game that will cure my boredom for an hour.

I can assure you it has way more replay value than just an hour. With nineteen achievements and the ability to surf to any song you can think of, I don't see how it will only cure it for an hour.

I'm just a strange person I guess.

Maybe. I mean, coming from me, a player who has 150+ hours on it right now, I can assure you it has so much replayability. But hey, maybe it's not for everyone.

I never understood why people torrent stuff, though, unless they were just flat broke.

Wasn't that one of the games part of the Portal 2 early release bundle?

I'm not sure, I got it in late 2011. I know it has some Portal-related songs on it, though.

Yep, I just checked my steam account. It was originally part of the portal 2 early release bundle. You played the game and got achievements, and for every achievement, portal 2 released earlier. It was counted collectively by everyone who played. Such a waste of money, I don't play any of the games that I bought in that bundle.

Oh, interesting. Portal 2 came out before I even got Steam (I joined August 2011), so I wasn't aware of that, but I did know about some Portal 2 songs built in the game.

You should play it again, though - if you have lots of music on your computer, it would work out great for you.

The point is, torrent everything.

That's a terrible point. Not everyone likes to torrent.

It's a great point. Torrenting is the easiest way.

That's purely subjective. Anyways, why don't we stop straying off-topic and get back to talking about Audiosurf, shall we?

Ah yes, the average musical tastes of this generation.

Also, when I asked earlier what your account was - I wasn't asking for your Steam account, I was asking for your Audiosurf account. Your Audiosurf account is separate from your Steam account, technically. So what is your username on Audiosurf?
