The song I need help with is "Sitting on a Star" by Strawberry Alarm Clock - I've been slowly working on their lyrics for the past few months, and this is one of several so far that has stumped me. I can understand the majority of the lyrics being sung, but the second line I can't understand for the life of me:

Glittering silver of solitude
In the darkest risk/whisk of ????

It sounds like a nonsense word, something like "Luperpull" or "Luperkull". If anyone has any idea what the word or phrase could be, that would be greatly appreciated. (I may post more songs by this band in the future that I need help with, but I'm starting little right now)

I sense the thumping and sounds in my ears...
thought of the cold = bottle of coke
wrong end boys = long hair boys

That's what I came up with, I'll other people do the rest.

Oh wow - I didn't think anyone would be able to decipher those! Not too sure about "bottles of Coke", though.

So I don't have to go back between this page and last page, I'll re-post the lyrics here (with your corrections), but there's still other parts you can let other people do, of course.

I sense the thumping
Sounds in my ears
My mind's exploding with every sound
Heeding percussion
Vibrations increasing
Bringing on tears
Afraid, I ran to the population of noise

Screaming and gelling with a (sprint run completion?)
And bottles of Coke
You can't win or lose, there's no more to choose
Said by the long-haired boys

Don't worry about dying
You were meant not to live
Or the girl you once loved and hurt
Is floating undone
Her real name is Sunnik (Sinick?)
My goddess of infinite love
Thus, I mutated your ears to do not a thing
But slowly torture you with the world of sounds
Being nothing but percussion

Did everyone else give up? I don't blame you guys, this song's really difficult.

I'll post another song I need help with later.

Lol that's my fault because I never stop posting and this most likely went on the second page.

How is it your fault? There's other users here too, not just you

Well, that previous song is still open for assistance, but here's the next song. Me and a friend actually tried our best to transcribe the whole thing, and this is what we got:

Oh, I'm in trouble
Can't see me on the double
You know you better take three in the morning and three at night
I'm gonna give you a little lovin'
Make you feel all right

Oh, I feel lonely
What's it gonna be, my one and only?
You know it's gotta be me in the morning and me at night
I'm gonna give you a little lovin'
Make you feel all right

Three in the morning and three at night
I'm gonna give you a little lovin'
Make you feel all right
Come, little baby, let me hold you tight
Come over a little more, make you feel all right

Three in the morning and three at night
I'm gonna give you a little lovin'
Make you feel all right
Come, little baby, let me hold you tight
Come over a little more, make you feel all right

Oh, the sun is rising
Don't let it waste away, the day is dying
And then you'll have to take three in the morning and three at night
You're gonna get a little lovin'
Make you feel all right

I'm pretty sure the majority of it is correct, but I'm 99% sure the last line in the 3rd and 4th verses ("Come over a little more, make you feel all right") is wrong. Maybe it's "You know that in the morn', make you feel all right"?

Righty-ho.

Oh, I'm in trouble
Can't see me on the double
You know you better take three in the morning and three at night
I'm gonna give you a little lovin'
Make you feel all right

Oh, I feel lonely
What's it gonna be, my one and only?
You know it's gotta be me in the morning and me at night
I'm gonna give you a little lovin'
Make you feel all right

Three in the morning and three at night
I'm gonna give you a little lovin'
Make you feel all right
Come on, little baby, let me hold you tight
You know a little more will make you feel all right

Three in the morning and three at night
I'm gonna give you a little lovin'
Make you feel all right
Come on, little baby, let me hold you tight
You know a little more will make you feel all right

Oh, the sun is rising
Don't let it waste away, the day is dying
And then you'll have to take three in the morning and three at night
You're gonna get a little lovin'
Make you feel all right

Like you said, I think you have most of it. I've put what I hear in bold. Also, I'm not positive, but I hear "We'll" or "Well" before "let it waste away, the day is dying" (rather than "Don't").

Wow, you're really good at this! Thanks! I think that's all I need. As I was proofreading the lyrics, though, I noticed the second line sounds like "Can't you see me on the double". Taking a second thought though, what does it mean to "see someone on the double" anyways? I don't recall hearing that phrase before, and I can't find the phrase online or anything. Maybe that line's wrong.

Also, I think it is actually "Don't let it waste away, the day is dying". I don't hear "We'll" there, plus it makes more sense that you wouldn't let the day waste away if it was dying.

Actually, nope, that line is right after all - I found "on the double"'s meaning on a site, and it basically means "quickly". So yeah, that makes sense here.

I'll post another song shortly.

To do something "on the double" means to do it quickly, I believe, but I don't know what it could mean used in that context.

I know what you mean about the "let it waste away" line, but hey, maybe they're looking forward to the night time loving. They're saying it's dying anyway - I don't know, that's just what I hear.

The singer is saying he's in trouble, so he would want his lover to see him quickly - or on the double. So in that context, "can't you see me on the double?" makes sense.

I know what you mean about the "let it waste away" line, but hey, maybe they're looking forward to the night time loving. They're saying it's dying anyway - I don't know, that's just what I hear.

I get where you're coming from, but eh, I submitted the lyrics as "Don't". Personally that's what I hear and either one could make sense

Anyways, here's the next song I need help with. Only two parts of this I can't make out.

----------------------------
I climbed the mountain
I saw the other side
And I can rest now
For I am satisfied

I saw a rich land
Where each man had his share
I saw a free land
With freedom everywhere

And there was peace in the valley
There was hope in the land
There was joy in the children
There was love, beautiful love, in the heart of man

I saw a schoolhouse
Where every child could come
I saw a table
That welcomed everyone

I saw a city
That had no ???? (slum divide?)
I saw a prison
That had no one inside

And there was peace in the valley
There was hope in the land
There was joy in the children
There was love, beautiful love, in the heart of man

I saw the lion
Lie down beside the man
I saw the ???? (white girl?)
Asleep upon the sand

And I saw Caesar
Give up his mighty throne
And I saw Johnny
As he came marching home

Well, there was peace in the valley
There was hope in the land
There was joy in the children
There was love, beautiful love, in the heart of man

Yes, there was peace in the valley
There was hope in the land
There was joy in the children
There was love, beautiful love, in the heart of man

-----------------------------------------------------------

Good luck!

Yeah, I read it in a different context (thinking visually only), but realised after, thanks.

I respect you submitting what you hear. I'll have a listen to this next one.

Hm. Not having much luck with this one, sorry. I don't think it's "girl", but I can't make the word out. I'm wondering if it's a creature one might find in the sand? :S I don't know about the other, either, I'm afraid. (I hear either "'Cause" or "For" before "there was peace in the valley" in the second-to-last verse.)

That's okay! That was a tough one, anyways. Speaking of tough ones, did you ever have a look at "Nightmare of Percussion"? I posted it at the end of the previous page.

Will do! Also, correction - I posted the link to the song on the first post of this page, and kalsonberry gave me some corrections to the lyrics in the following post - but there's still some more parts he didn't correct.
