I keep hearing a song, hard to make out lyrics so lyric search does not work--I captured a few seconds of it on radio...Hope I can post it here...
I wrote all of the following but I thought "song" would let me post it here on either MP3 or MP4... hmmm I can't see help page in this screen at same time so I will save it as it is and hope I can edit or add MP4 in...
My MP3 audio only is scratchy---I ran toward the music so best piece is between 24 second to end of it when someone spoke to me loudly over the music---sorry... Had to upload to MP4 video to post it and Mac to Windows conversion as well (maybe I should ask a question here how to do that properly and clean up audio as well for a next time!)
About the song: a country/ rock beat, strong on 2/4 time...
Not as fast as Rockabilly types slow and deliberate..
Words I can get are "its just a shame" "whether its wrong or whether its right" and somewhere later its "might".....
Usually hear it in elevators/stores so no identification is possible as they don't announce those songs....
Just annoys me I know so many by words or just the music, I can't for the life of me get this one and I like it too, so want to get words/melody, and learn how to play/sing it sometime too.
But the male singer garbles his words over the music..
Can someone figure this out? Lyrics.com. Lyrics007.com had 32 Million! songs with "its a shame" in the lyrics!

Update : As the timer is a countdown timer the correct timing mark is 11 seconds from end to the end is clearest part when I stopped running!

holy crap. it's not THIS by any chance is it? Seeing the words country and rockabilly somehow threw me way off but the last audible snippet sounded strangely familiar...

BRILLANT!!! That's the SONG! Genesis! That's all! Yes a classic song.. no wonder its on everyone's "muzak" playlists.
Thanks! Will share it around to other places over the past year or two I've asked (first time I ever actually caught a snippit of song was a few days ago)

haha, you are so right about hearing that song everywhere on the radio (in stores and elevators etc). I hear that song everywhere too.

Yes zjenn4, that's why it annoyed me so much, I thought I knew so many songs (I'm like game show "name that tune" person).... but missed that one as every time I heard song, it was so badly produced the words were garbled, the You Tube that tquizasunrise provided was crystal clear (and I got the lyrics since then and page one of the sheet music so far---freebie looking for rest still)

Oh and wanted to write anyway to thank whoever marked the question as "solved"--newbie here I didn't know how that is done.. Thanks!

Just checked in and you replied to me zjenn4, thanks again! Wow, everyone here has so many postings.. I'm just at 13-14 now.... whew! I do forums and blogs but probably not as many individual posts all together in my life as all you have done here---helping others... that is great! Captain Keeta and joeyy have done so many and type and communicate here so well... apologies for any poor wordings on my way to finding the correct answer---- memorizing and singing the song now I got all the words, thanks again all!
