I saw this on another forum and thought it might be nice for us, too. I checked with a mod to make sure they felt it was different enough from the 'Things You Love' thread, so to make sure there isn't any confusion:

Whilst 'Things You Love' is mostly for the common, general things in our lives, this thread is for the more unexpected, random, specific occurrences.

"Acts of kindness" would be a thing you love, but reading about or experiencing a specific act would be what you'd post here. For example, I might post in the 'Things You Love' thread that I love cheese, because I do – every minute of every day

. Here, though, I would post if someone surprised me by randomly buying me a cheese I favour or have yet to try.

Also, links to images of adorable animals; an amusing comic sketch; a sweet news story; unexpected kind words; something else cool that you spot online. That kind of thing. Spread the smiles.

Soccer news: Ibrahimovic pays to send Swedish learning disabled team to Brazil for INAS World Cup

Sweden's national football team for the intellectually disabled...needed 350,000 kronor ($51,000) to travel to the INAS World Cup in Brazil this month... They got the likes of Johan Elmander...and Per Nilsson to donate autographed shirts and boots to be auction off towards the cause. Then they asked Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

According to Aftonbladet, Ibrahimovic's response was, "What the hell are you going to do with a shirt? How much is it to go?" And when told the full amount they needed to raise, the national team captain...then asked for their bank account number and deposited all of it.

Regarding the Unknown Team's article:
Whenever a famous personality does something good and it is in news, I always have a doubt about their true intentions. Anyways, if something good is happening then why not appreciate that.

My favourite line of the article- "All hail Zlatan: The only footballer who crushes dreams and makes them come true in equal measure."

I know, it works more as a joke than a statement. But it came from Rowling herself, so at least it tells us that she feels that it's OK to be openly gay even if no one was in the books.
