*Introductory theme tune*

Konnichiwa! As requested, this week's quiz will concern all things Japanese... I jest, who would request that? (Here's looking at you, Jen.)

So, now that we've had six different winners, which is about half of the total of individuals who have played our previous seven quizzes, I'm excited to see if our seventh will be a former crown-holder or someone new. I think I'm going to hit the non-British Europeans with a double whammy this week, so a particularly big "good luck" to them.

Rules of the quiz:
- One answer per person (per round)
- Always give the answer you think the fewest amount of people would know
- If two people give the same answer in a short space of time, the first person's answer will be accepted (but the second can answer again)
- When applicable, a player may pick the same subject as another contestant and provide a different answer if they believe the other to be incorrect
- If you play the first round, please check back in case you make it through to Round #2
- Resist cheating (i.e. searching online for answers)

And of course, respect your fellow contestants and have fun!

Round #1 will be posted shortly and will remain open until Monday (or, when applicable, until each answer is taken) to give everyone a chance of replying.

Let's play Pointless!

We'll see on Monday.

ROUND #1

Your first category concerns...

BRITISH TRANSPORT

I gave 100 people 100 seconds to name as many...

UK RAILWAY STATIONS WITH 'STREET' IN THEIR NAMES

...as they could. Don't panic; it's not as bad as it sounds. I'm going to give you a board now of national rail stations in England, Scotland, and Wales which have the word "street" in their name – you just need to tell me which you think is correct (and hopefully obscure).

As with the mythical beasts round, some will be correct and low-scoring; others correct and high-scoring; others pointless...and of course, I've slipped a few incorrect answers in there as well. Good luck! Here's your board:

ARGYLE STREET (GLASGOW) - Kaleb
MARYLEBONE STREET (LONDON) - B
BIRMINGHAM NEW STREET (BIRMINGHAM)
CANNON STREET (LONDON) - Jen
LIVERPOOL LIME STREET (LIVERPOOL) - Lucy
HAM STREET (KENT)
SMETHWICK ROLFE STREET (SMETHWICK) - Lisa
BAKER STREET (LONDON)
CHESTER-LE-STREET (COUNTY DURHAM) - Sarah
KING STREET (CARDIFF)
FENCHURCH STREET (LONDON) - Em
PARSON STREET (BRISTOL) - Jeff
GOLF STREET (CARNOUSTIE)
SUMMER STREET (BATH)
LIVERPOOL JAMES STREET (LIVERPOOL) - James

Well last time we had a multiple choice round, I managed to pick a pointless one...

This time that could well be a high-scoring one, but oh well. I couldn't not pick it. lol.

It would be "oughta", as in from the words "ought" and "to".

"Outta" is used to mean "out of", as in, "Zombies are coming, let's get outta here!"

Not to worry, now you know for the future. Just think of the Alanis Morissette song You Oughta Know. :p

Nice to have you with us, Lucy. Imagine if it read LIVERPOOL LEMON STREET...I wonder if anyone would go for it then.

Not a bad idea Joeyy.

Why do you think it might be high-scoring, James? Perhaps it's even wrong. ;p I had a long list of names to choose from; there were two with "JAMES" in. They scored the same.

I dunno, just doesn't seem as obscure as some of the others.

You better not of put that one in as a wrong answer on purpose, knowing I'd pick it..
