*Introductory theme tune*

Konnichiwa! As requested, this week's quiz will concern all things Japanese... I jest, who would request that? (Here's looking at you, Jen.)

So, now that we've had six different winners, which is about half of the total of individuals who have played our previous seven quizzes, I'm excited to see if our seventh will be a former crown-holder or someone new. I think I'm going to hit the non-British Europeans with a double whammy this week, so a particularly big "good luck" to them.

Rules of the quiz:
- One answer per person (per round)
- Always give the answer you think the fewest amount of people would know
- If two people give the same answer in a short space of time, the first person's answer will be accepted (but the second can answer again)
- When applicable, a player may pick the same subject as another contestant and provide a different answer if they believe the other to be incorrect
- If you play the first round, please check back in case you make it through to Round #2
- Resist cheating (i.e. searching online for answers)

And of course, respect your fellow contestants and have fun!

Round #1 will be posted shortly and will remain open until Monday (or, when applicable, until each answer is taken) to give everyone a chance of replying.

Let's play Pointless!

ROUND #1

Your first category concerns...

BRITISH TRANSPORT

I gave 100 people 100 seconds to name as many...

UK RAILWAY STATIONS WITH 'STREET' IN THEIR NAMES

...as they could. Don't panic; it's not as bad as it sounds. I'm going to give you a board now of national rail stations in England, Scotland, and Wales which have the word "street" in their name – you just need to tell me which you think is correct (and hopefully obscure).

As with the mythical beasts round, some will be correct and low-scoring; others correct and high-scoring; others pointless...and of course, I've slipped a few incorrect answers in there as well. Good luck! Here's your board:

ARGYLE STREET (GLASGOW) - Kaleb
MARYLEBONE STREET (LONDON) - B
BIRMINGHAM NEW STREET (BIRMINGHAM)
CANNON STREET (LONDON) - Jen
LIVERPOOL LIME STREET (LIVERPOOL) - Lucy
HAM STREET (KENT)
SMETHWICK ROLFE STREET (SMETHWICK) - Lisa
BAKER STREET (LONDON)
CHESTER-LE-STREET (COUNTY DURHAM) - Sarah
KING STREET (CARDIFF)
FENCHURCH STREET (LONDON) - Em
PARSON STREET (BRISTOL) - Jeff
GOLF STREET (CARNOUSTIE)
SUMMER STREET (BATH)
LIVERPOOL JAMES STREET (LIVERPOOL) - James

As you can see, I've also included the city or town in which the stations are (or aren't) located. For the record, all of these places are real - so don't think, "X is a silly place name; it probably doesn't exist, so I won't go for that one".

PARSON STREET (BRISTOL) because yeah.

I'm pretty sure that's a real one, although no idea how low-scoring it is...

Haha! Know your Scottish railway stations, Kaleb?

Haha, I'll post my reasoning after the round is over, in case I'm completely wrong.

There are three pointless answers up there again. Could this round make it so Jen or/and Lisa are one away from Bruna and James, who top the leader board of pointless answers with four each, or might B and James edge further ahead? Or will others find them...or no one at all? *Rubs hands*

I'm going for Liverpool James Street. Because it clearly has the best name in it.

Who here saw the name and knew he would if no one else had? *Raises hand*

You should've taken it from him but you're too nice to do so, haha.

I could have but I fear he might have cried.

I'm gonna go with SMETHWICK ROLFE STREET. I don't know why, but that name speaks to me.

Bullshit James.

Probably because Smethwick is a more unusual and slightly fun-to-say place name. :p

I'm gonna go with CHESTER-LE-STREET (COUNTY DURHAM). It sounds British-ish.

The "ish" being the "le" part?

The Chester part seems pretty British to me too.

I meant because it's more French-y, so yeah, the Chester part it is. Not far from me, Chester the city...but County Durham is a bit further out.

Really close round so far. One pointless answer.
